This is an honest review. This is a good restaurant that deserves a 4 or 5 stars review. As you enter the front garden of the restaurant, you are greeted by red and pink roses on a garden that was well manicured with intent. I believe the restaurant was once a house transformed into a beautiful diner. Once we pass the front lawn, we can see there were about 3 - 4 tables outside the front porch with diners enjoying their meals. That’s always a good sign. Next, as we walk up to the front door reception. We are able to scan the entire floor of the restaurant which was quite spacious with good ambient and a view of the enormous pizza oven. Once again, we saw there were a good number of diners scattered in various table. I was already feeling hopeful this restaurant should be pretty good. Let’s talk about the food and why I decide to write this review. We ordered a pasta, a pizza, and an affogato to share between the two of us. It was perfect and we still couldn’t finish the pizza. The pasta arrived with a decent size burrata cheese on top, it was very delicious and I find myself wanting to eat the whole plate myself. Next, the pizza came and it was cooked to perfection, it wa very good. The dough was just right and every bite was super yummy. Last, we ordered an affogato because we had it in Italy and now, we have to order it anytime we went to an Italian restaurant. It was decent, with two scopes of vanilla and an espresso, who can fault it.

I’ll keep it brief unlike the night of two hours at this restaurant. Party of 3, sitting pretty visible to the kitchen, all staff and in a location where all three waiters had to walk past us continuously. After 30 minutes we finally got one of three entrées (three of us one starter each). Another 20 minutes later right as we were about to ask what was going on (being extremely patient and polite) one of the waiters came and told us the food wouldn’t be long. So we waited again. After more time being extremely hungry and frustrated at this point, we asked what was going on. They finally admitted they hadn’t even started cooking anything else and made a mistake. The unbelievable thing was that the waitress that we ordered from could see us the entire time, all the staff could see us and could see we had one meal and had been there for an hour. Don’t get me started on the waiter who saw we only had one entree and came over to say the food wouldn’t be long even though it wasn’t even being thought of. It took an hour and a half to get our food and it was pretty average. They gave us 50% off which was a nice sentiment but didn’t make up for the terrible experience. Don’t recommend.

We were looking forward to dining here due to the ambience and lovely aesthetic of the restaurant, however we were disappointed by the quality of the meals. This is definitely not authentic Italian food, if that is what you are seeking. Our pastas, which were $30 each, were significantly lacking in flavour and tasted like something we could have made at home. The red pasta sauce was plain and there was no melody in the flavours or toppings, it seemed that they had just been thrown together and served. I ordered the chilli eggplant pasta and there was no spice to the dish whatsoever, in fact, it tasted sweet due to the pasta sauce and I had to ask the waitress for some chilli on the side. The salt and pepper calamari was extremely salty (too salty to eat) and mostly comprised of fried batter, with hardly any meat. We did not finish our meals and left them mostly untouched. We did enjoy the meatball starter, but were left disappointed by the overall quality and experience of the restaurant.

I recently dined at La Milano Italian restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Located in the heart of Orange, this hidden gem truly brings the flavors of Italy to life.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who provided impeccable service throughout the evening. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a romantic date night or a special celebration.

Now, onto the star of the show – the food! La Milano's menu is a culinary journey through Italy, featuring an array of authentic dishes that cater to all tastes. I started with the Caprese Salad, which was a burst of freshness with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. For the main course, I savored the Linguine alle Vongole, and it was cooked to perfection. The pasta was al dente, and the clams were tender, creating a symphony of flavors in every bite.

To complement the meal, the wine selection was impressive, and the sommelier's recommendations were spot on.

The attention to detail in both presentation and taste was evident, and it's clear that the chefs at La Milano take pride in their craft. The portions were generous, and I left with a satisfied palate and a smile on my face.

I can't recommend La Milano Italian restaurant enough. It's a true culinary delight where the passion for Italian cuisine shines through in every dish. Whether you're a fan of traditional Italian classics or looking to explore new flavors, La Milano is the place to be. Make sure to save room for dessert; the Tiramisu is a must-try!

I will definitely be returning to La Milano for another memorable dining experience. Grazie mille to the entire team for a fantastic...
