Panda & Co — Restaurant in Perth

I can't believe I never written a review, considering I've been a regular at Panda & Co since 2016. The coffee is consistently good, and service is excellent, not only from the super friendly owner but also from the staff. I have tried nearly everything on their menu (except when I'm too hungry to take a snap), I always looking forward to their staff meals. The beef quesadilla and the Philly cheese steak are our favourites, I also enjoy the pork congee tho I wish it had a bit more flavour. Their bao buns are yummy, but I'd prefer if they offered them individually like before so I can order different baos. I always waiting for the return of their breakfast ramen, especially during the winter months. One memorable dish that I could never forget was their salted egg fried chicken and pancake (cant remember if this was the name, can't believe I dont even have a photo for this one) - hopefully it makes a comeback at some point... On the flip side, I'm not a fan of the stir fry udon - it's a bit too sweet for my liking, but I know a lot of people enjoy this, so its just a matter of personal preference.. Similarly, while their scrambled eggs are well-cooked, I'm not a fan of the chili cheese variation - again its personal preference as I prefer real chili...

I called at 9am to make a reservation for 2 people as we are travelling an hour to get here. I said I would like to book for 1130 am or 12pm if there are availabilities as there are no booking options on your website. The woman on the phone said to just come in instead as they are quiet. I told her I would like to make the booking as we are travelling far but she insisted to just walk in. My friend and I got here at 1130am and there was a long line. We told her that we had inquired to make a booking but the person on the phone insisted otherwise as she insisted earlier there would be spaces. She proceeded to tell me it was unexpected in a rude and dismissive tone, and told me there will be a 25 minutes wait if i would like to put my name down to join the line. I am writing this, so that in the future other customers do not have to go through the bad experience we had. We were looking forward to eating here, but based on the poor customer service, I will not be recommending this...

We ordered today - Ester Sunday Pandas Ouako-D (didn't have a chance to take pic) Potato n Tiger Prawn Shokupan And two coffees. I mean Coffee is tasty as usual. But the food 🥪 Shokupan is really nice. The combination of potato salad and prawn is amazing. However, crispy chicken rice bowl is not. It's dry and too hard to eat. Not crispy.. It's hard. And it's so dark brown that looks burnt. And I asked for fresh chilli. It's molding. Panda co was always my favourite. Always choose to come here. But now it started to change my thought of coming here. I am sorry to write this. I am a panda & co Fan and love to see better again. But now, I need to take 2...
