Came here back in January, was an 'interesting' experience, and I say that very loosely. I arrived here from the Gold Coast, as my daughter had been pestering me to go to Port Macquarie for an elite piano recital opportunity. Usually, my trips are a family-wide event, however, my wife was preoccupied with helping our son's education, who himself was preoccupied with his education.
Arrived here at around 7:20 in the morning on a Saturday, I recall that we intended to stop by here and get a quick breakie before breaking off and seeing the town. My daughter wanted to check things out before we made it to her recital. Around twenty minutes after our orders were placed, I asked if our orders were ready yet. The employees responded that they had 'forgotten about my order' and that they would 'get straight to it.'
Another half an hour later, my daughter was hungry, so she asked me to check up on our meal. This time, it seems that the original person who had been operating the front had been switched, so I asked her whether or not our order was ready. They told me to be patient and that rushing them would only cause more issues. I, of course, had had enough. I told them that we were hungry, had no breakfast, and would like a refund. It was THEN did they told me that my order was ready, and handed it to me. They told me that refunds were not possible, since the meal had already been prepared for me.
I wasn't going to complain anymore. It was almost 9 and I had to get my daughter to her trials before the deadline. We left in a rush and got into the car. When I opened it? I specifically asked that the cheese be removed from our burgers, since my daughter has a severe case of lactose intolerance. What I found was a patty that had cheese half scraped off.
We didn't eat breakfast that morning. My burger was perfectly fine, and honestly, I commend the team for that. Would go again, but I might just order for myself next...
Read moreIm going to start by saying how absolutely disgusting that place is. It takes literally 5 minutes, not even, to grab the broom and duster and the cloth and spray to clean the place up. To not even be able to walk without stepping on food, spilt ice cream or rubbish is an absolute joke. I can tell you right now im almost 16. Ive actually worked at a hungry jacks myself, not this exact one, and never would you see the place anywhere near this disgusting. I would literally clean tables people sat at but didnt even eat their food there. The fact they let a staff go for a toilet break before anyone even thought about cleaning the dining room was truly shocking. Now this is an honest review and there were some good things, like the food was hot and fresh, although the sauce on my burger was messy and spilling out everywhere is qas quite a hot and delicious meal. The customer setvice was quite averahe nothing was really much said or done other then making our food on their part. And i do you when you've got a rush so you don't really have time for cleaning but if you've got time for a toilet break you've got time...
Read moreI watched the server prepare our order which should have been "you will receive a side order of Hepatitis A" for free with this order. He touched his face, hair, clothing and anything else available. Stuck his finger into the burger box and the burger was already in it. The loaded fries box bottom fell apart so he pushed that back together pushing the food back into it and discarding what he couldn't. I paid for that. Well no I didn't, I cancelled the ordered, requested a refund that would take 3 days and spoke to the manager. These food handlers ie. anyone near food should be, by law required to complete a food handling course but as long as One person in the establishment holds a Certificate businesses are not required to make all employees complete this course. Check out NSW Food Handling Requirements. The Health Department needs a kick up the backside and courses must be a requirement for everyone handling food, not rely on internal business training methods. They obviously do not work. KM. PS The one star is because you have to give it something to be...
