Waited 1 whole hour to receive my food and watched 2 people who ordered the same meal receive theirs 40 minutes before me. When I finally received my meal, I ate 5 mouthfuls of my basic Beef schnitzel with plain gravy and couldn't eat anymore, it was charcoal on the bottom and cold all over. I addressed it with the manager at the time and he was apologetic, but wasted a lot of my time. Went back for a 2nd time and was seated at a booth, then 10 minutes after ordering and being seated, was asked and expected to move to an uncleaned table setting next to the door so a group of 3 could sit in our spot. I bit my tongue and showed cooperation and ended up waiting 40 minutes for my food which thank god was better than the last time. I have recently went back and surprisingly my food only took 20 minutes, but my girlfriend's little brother ordered a kids meal, which took an hour to come out. All adults had eaten and ready to leave and he had not even seen his plate yet. We were offered a complimentary serve of pancakes or a garlic bread each, but so were all of the people seated next to us, who had their food immediately and we're there for no less than 30 minutes. Not overly impressed with this restaurant, best part about it, was the fact it is next to the Portside Pub. Staff are selective on their audience service and quality is not consistent. Prior to all 3 occasions, I quite enjoyed this place. Now I refuse to go back there, not even for a friend's birthday party. Quite embarrassed to be seen in such a poor...
Read moreHad dinner on our way through Port Pirie on holiday. Hard to find off street parking, very little spots. We arrived at around 7:30pm on Tuesday, not many people. The venue was nice and well presented, table space & booths.
Ordered the Stir Fry which was great, fresh noodles and big pieces of chicken. Also ordered chicken schnitzel, good batter and well cooked chicken, the mushroom sauce was pretty good! Although, salad was old, warm and not fresh. One piece of cucumber, tomato and warm lettuce, drizzled with olive oil. Not nice, was expecting fresh plump salad and even the lack of chips was disappointing.
Had to ask about our complimentary pancakes, they were freshly made but, the fake cream wasn't fresh and that was golden syrup not maple syrup. No ice cream with the lonely pancake.
Near by free water was horrible. Tasted like nasty tap water. So used to fresh cold filtered water, could taste the chlorine. Yuck.
Not bad for a pub style meal, price wise it's medium range. Just under $50 for our meals with 2 soft drinks. Could expect fresher salad and more chips though. As a tourist, sadly we wouldn't go back until they fix their mistakes. Wouldn't recommend if really hungry, staff were pretty friendly though.
Will look elsewhere for next dinner....
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this place. Asked the lady serving at the counter for a table for 7, said they are fully booked out even though there were empty tables available. Told us we can sit next door in the tavern if we can find a table and not to order before 7pm as they are busy. We placed our order by 6.40 and were happy to wait. We got all our food served by 7pm and by this time the Caffe Primo restaurant was also empty. Clearly they were not happy to welcome more customers on a busy night. The food we ordered was below average. I got the Chicken Pepe that was burnt and dry, I then ordered gravy in hope it will make my meal taste better. Guess what, the gravy never came. Fairly poor service, I had to tell the guy clearing our table that I didn't get the gravy, he apologised and offered a refund which was not necessary for a $2.50 gravy. There is a lack of communication in their system and poor service for not serving their customers good quality food and items they paid for. Please tell your chefs to make better quality food, it should at least be eatable. I'm also a hotel owner and couldn't believe the lack of service in...
