Drove down to the Noosa River near the Thomas Street corner to try a great gelato as some folk bhad mentioned this place had terrific ice cream. There was some limited street parking outside this always busy area. We found our way of the concrete stairs to the back of the previously popular Thomas Street Eatery corner. I found the general presentation of the gelateria, set back off the street with its earthy awnings and signposting quite underwhelming. The presentation of icecream flavours was similarly ordinary.

Certainly there were the usual typical Italian flavours, for example, chocolate and hazelnut (a take on the popular Italian chocolate 'Bacio') and tiramisu. The typical popular flavours that one would enjoy in Queensland for example with various fruits and the old favourite rum and raisin we were there.

We were there to try something unique. We chose the Rose petal with light coconut cream and each added another of our favourites. The service was fairly casual, not welcoming and staff seemed bored or weary of their task on this bright Sunday morning.

A medium Cup with two flavours priced at $7. I'm not sure about the quality of the paper cups they use as mine was rather thin and seemed to leak continuously.

It was great to try the Rose petal gelato however, as unique styles or flavours are certainly a treat or an adventure. We headed across the road and sat in the park by the river to quickly keep up with our fast melting gelati. The Caffe itself was not an inviting place to sit.

Amo Gelato is not a patch on Gelato Messina in Brisbane or Gelato Mio in Coolum from this...

What's happened to the gelato here? Something has changed for the worst. It's not like it used to be. This was always my go to for gelato since 2018 but not anymore. The last 2 times I've been here mine and my children's flavours were full of icicles. My kids didn't finish their scoops today and that is unheard of. This gelato has become more like ice cream, which is less dense and smooth and full of alot more air. Is someone else making it or have the quality of ingredients changed, such as the milk and cream? The big write up at the front that explained that the gelato is made with local jersey milk, has disappeared aswell. Does this mean that the dairy source has changed to cheaper and poorer quality such has friesian milk? I used to rave about this place and rated it the best on the sunny coast, but I can't do this any longer because now massimo's in noosa heads out does this place and probably gelatissmos aswell. Also price for 1 flavour kids scoop size is 5.5. Ow that right "inflation",which is really just another...

Ordered medium sized 2 flavours gelato and regular coffee on Easter Saturday at 04:30 pm 19.04.2025 The only female staff was yelling for “next orders” (which is understandable because it was bit crowded). But when we asked to change flavours for gelato (getting served by another friendly male staff), she saw us changing the flavours and raised eye-brows rolled her eyes (showing agitation as she thought we were delaying the order request) and showing a grimacing face at us. I told her “listen we are bit confused with flavours, hope u don’t mind”. She had an expression-less faced. She made my coffee and kept in front and walked away, no sorry , no thank you. We paid Public Holiday surcharge for the food, not getting paid from Centrelink. Pathetic service experience. So disappointed with a zero level customer service. I am sure the owner doesn’t care to reply to this review as they get customers no matter what. Well that female staff...

Great size servings and tasted amazing. Well worth the trip to try this place. Young staff at this store need to have a few lesions on customer service. Having conversations about what they got up to the night before whilst serving families is not a great representation on what is a great product. Go here only for the gelato knowing service is lacking.
