Ever had a "front porch" experience? You know, a comfortable chair, delicious cuisine, a great view, and someone granting your every culinary wish? Look no further!
If you are visiting Noosaville for the first time, or if you live in Noosa and haven't yet tried the exquisite gustatory delights of Executive Chef, Ryan Fitzpatrick, at "Lanai", (meaning "front porch" in native Hawaiian), don't waste another minute! Go online and book a table. This is both stylish and sensual dining at its best! The food is wonderful.
Highlights for us included the Mooloolaba Prawns which were plump and delicious, bathed in a generous Lemon Butter sauce, a delectable vegetarian salad, Lanai's Local Green Salad -- fresh, crisp and leafy, and tastily dressed in a creamy dressing -- and the Cheese of the Day, (two Spanish Manchego cheeses, one, nutty and buttery, the other, layered with truffle), were served with guindeja peppers, crispy lavosh and a not-too-sweet, date "jam", the dish, the perfect complement to Lanai's excellent, deep-flavoured coffee.
But do check the menu; there's much more to excite the palette and make the mouth water.
Added to this, the "amuse-bouche" (a French term meaning "mouth amuser") was our first culinary delight, a complimentary surprise from Chef Fitzpatrick, served as we awaited our meal; an exquisite, bite-size work of art. The gesture made us feel welcomed and valued, as did the professional and gracious service of staff, Andrew and Bernie.
It was our first time at Lanai, and we sat on comfortable, high-backed, padded chairs, overlooking the marvellous Noosa River. A genuine "front porch" experience and one not to be missed. We...
Read moreLanai is, without a doubt, the best restaurant in Noosa! From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional—the service, the location, the stunning views, and, of course, the FOOD!
My wife and I were celebrating a special evening, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. We spent a magical three hours here, starting with perfectly seared scallops and refreshing mojitos. A special shout-out to Dino (the amazing bartender!) for crafting some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had.
Our waitress, Marica, was a superstar—she had a deep knowledge of the menu and guided us to the perfect dish pairings. The barramundi was simply divine—so incredible, in fact, that I had to visit the kitchen to personally thank Alex, the head chef.
Lanai exceeded all our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend it to locals and visitors alike. If you’re in town for just a few days, make this your top dining destination. We’ve already decided that any future celebrations—personal or business—will be at Lanai. Thank you to the entire team for an...
Read moreOur first time to Lanai and it won't be the last. Exceptional food, friendly and helpful service and a pleasant ambience with views across the road to the river. We tried a few shared dishes, no mains, but all were excellent. My warm cuttlefish salad was succulent with a shredded Asian style green apple and Snow pea salad and a tangy dressing. Lamb skewers basted with chilli, Vegemite (yes!) and black garlic were juicy, tender and very tasty. The red miso eggplant was very good, but maybe a little too much creamed sesame for my taste. The highlight was four potato gems topped with truffle aioli and chives - delicious crunchy crust with a fluffy centre. Only four dishes, but the eggplant and cuttlefish were generous servings. I had a large glass of dry Italian I Campi Soave white wine and the bill came to $99 - very reasonable! There are set menus and many tasty options. If you are in Noosaville,...
