I wouldn’t normally complain about a food order arriving quickly but on this occasion it wasn’t a good omen. Coming from people who love Indian cuisine and have enjoyed quite a few meals in Indian restaurants.
My husband and I made reservations for this restaurant whilst on holiday this week based in the great reviews. So many good reviews, it must be nice. We arrived at 7.25pm as per our booking, I kid you not we were home by 7.55pm! We ordered lamb roghan josh, palak paneer, tikka chicken, rice and a naan… within 5mins chicken arrived, 2 minutes later the other dishes arrived. You know this isn’t a good thing when there should be an element of freshness when ordering a curry in a restaurant. The lamb dish was ok but really no fresh flavour of spices, the paneer dish could quite easily have been one of those packets you can buy at the supermarket luminous green and no freshness, literally nothing but boiled paneer and sauce, tikka was bland, rice ok as was the naan. We ate it as we were hungry.Paid our $89 and went home extremely bemused and disappointed. We won’t return but I guess that these types of restaurants rely on tourists that come once and pay. I cant imagine they can get away with inferior food for too long without their business suffering. You...
Read moreSo you are a Noosa local and regularly go to the riverfront on a Friday night to listen to the music of the talented Maurice Milani, finishing off with the iconic fish and chips from the Boathouse. We’ve been doing this for almost 3 years and there has been many a time as I waited in the Boathouse queue that I thought, perhaps we should try one of the local restaurants for a change.
Well tonight we did, the MAGIC OF INDIA for a curry. I walked 200M to the restaurant and placed my takeaway order. 10 minutes for pickup so just enough time to pack up the chairs and drive to the restaurant. Unlike the Boathouse, the choices for an Indian curry were endless. But what about the food, you ask? We had the Bombay Beef, delicious, tasty with plenty of tender beef pieces. The curries range in price from $20-$23, so similar to the Boathouse fish and chip price but much more enjoyable. Our only regret is we left it so long but as Arnold Schwarzenegger so famously said “We’ll be back!” HIGHLY...
Read moreWell done Magic of India. It was simply MAGIC. We had the lamb from the tandoor, baramundi fish curry (goan) the potato chickpea, saffron rice, chilli pickle, papadum and the best bit was the chopped green chilli. The lamb was succulent cooked in the tandoor and the best i have had in years. The goan fish fish was simply delicious and the flavour was amazing. The potato and chickpea was simply superb. I use to be a frequent visitor under the old owner many years ago when i lived in noosa. Although i dont live in noosa anymore ive not had the time to visit over the years. Only realised yesterday that new owners had taken over - well done magic of india. Although the young lady forgot my glass of wine when I reminded her she apologised i feel bad to mention it - it does not reflect any negativity on your service and quality. Hope to come...
