My experience here compels me to write my first review of a restaurant. Big disappointment. Over hyped over ambitious, over priced, but did not deliver and under performed. I am thankful that I did not bring Chinese people here. It would have been embarrassing. BBQ bun $8 each !! Junior members said the filling is not what they know. Frozen bought at supermarket were better. Kids can be harsh , but often honest critics. 4 tiny shao mai for $17. The filling was a strange tasting indeterminate grouned meat .... but no prawns. This serving came out when we were almost finished. Not good timing for something that takes only 5 minutes to steam. I wonder if the same filling is used in their won tons. Green vegetables did not have oyster sauce, but just some thicken salty stock. Seafood deluxe with crispy noodles ... good old chow mein.Questionable fresh local produce!! And no fish slices ??. Noodles were deep fried and not wok fried . Deep frying noodles is lazy and cheating. Steamed rice was starchy and hard, not fluffy. I thought all Chinese can cook rice Fried ice cream were under done. Beef dish was the only acceptable dish. Big thing missing is " the breath of the wok" No wok skill here. All the superlatives of using best local produce, transporting you to the heart of HK , refined Cantonese menu inspired by HK cuisine, offering many of the traditional dishes. Just all talk ,in fact a bit misleading. ( well, maybe a bit more than a bit ) . Over promising, over zealous and over price does not equate to above and beyond average. Big failure. This place has not saved face ... which is most important in Asian countries. My condolences to you people of Noosa. This place does not cut the mustard. Go elsewhere to enjoy, save your money and your disappointment. Awful, awful experience. I must state that I am 73 yo and have eaten Chinese all my life. I take regular visits to China and HK. So maybe I can speak from...
Read moreWe ordered takeaway from China Dina on Saturday night. We had dined in a couple of weeks earlier, weren't overly impressed with the food, but thought we'd give it another go.
However, when my wife & daughter arrived at the requested time to pick up our food, there was a line of people out the door and they had to wait in line for over 10 minutes before they could even get near the counter to be served. There were 3 groups of people in front of them waiting to be shown to tables, and these people were all standing around the entrance and the front counter, blocking access to it.
The restaurant was very busy and all staff looked like they were run off their feet, but not one of them came over to ask if anyone was waiting to pick up takeaways. My wife said after a very long wait 2 of the groups were shown to their tables and she was then able to get access to the counter where she was finally able to pick up our food.
A better system needs to be put in place, where people can wait for a table to become available, away from the main entrance, so people who are coming in to pick up takeaways can get prompt access to the front counter. I would also suggest a member of staff be stationed at the front counter to greet people and handle the takeaways side of things.
As for the food, we had been so excited to finally see Char Sui on a Noosa menu, but the thick slices that I could hardly get my teeth through were a disappointment. Would we go back? Mmmm, probably...
Read moreFINALLY!! An outstanding Asian restaurant in Noosa❣️ It's Friday morning and my husband and I were in bed searching for our dining pleasures for the day and the Google search presented us with CHINADINA. Checked their menu and OMG...they serve Chicken feet 😛 that was it for me, I couldn't get to Chinadina fast enough. From booking over the phone to arriving and greeted by exceptional staff, CHINADINA sets a standard few in the area know how to achieve. I am a British HongKongese, (born and bred in Hong Kong during the Crown Colony/British Dependent Territory) and can safely say I know what good Cantonese food is. The pickled vege spring rolls was crispy and super tasty, chinese vege green dumplings were yum, the skin was super fine and just melts in your mouth. Stir fried beef tenderloin was exceptionally tender, the sauce was just amazingly delicious, I was just having the sauce with the bowl of fluffy glutenous white rice, brings back such delightful memories. Truffle vege fried rice was next level, each grain of rice was separated and there was the aroma of a well fried wok in the rice with truffle, such an awesome and well executed combo. Then..................drum roll please.................. I saved the best till last....came the chicken feet....I was in Hong Kong Heaven😶🌫️🤤
A Massive Thank You to you Tim, your Chefs and Wait staff for looking after us and giving us an exceptional dining experience right here...
