Absolutely shocking. We had Canadian guests visiting and thought it would be nice to play some bowls and have a real traditional Aussie experience. I called in the morning to confirm a game for 7-8 people in the evening, which the staff member said it was fine and to come anytime. Upon our arrival, a different staff member refused us because we needed 12 people and any less she simply would not turn on the lights. Even after explaining that I was told differently and we travelled far to enjoy some bowls she still refused. She made an effortless attempt to speak to her manager and then without any further explanation turned her back to us, ignoring us and chatting with other patrons at the bar. It was evident she did not want us there and we were clearly unwelcome, so we left without so much as an apology. The club lost out on a lively fun bunch & hundreds of dollars between the game fees, food and alcohol. I have never seen such shocking, or lack there of, customer service. Read moreLast night (4/10/13) we went to our favourite spot for dinner. What a DISASTER. New people in the kitchen who were obviously the local taxi drivers who are now moonlighting as chefs! Menu was practically non existent. We ordered rump on the beach with salad and chips and garlic prawns with salad and chips. More than one hour later, and after hassling them, we were finally served with some food. The rump steak was blade steak and raw with some ghastly prawns on top and a few deep fried calamari with chips...no salad but we did not dare to and ask for that. The garlic prawns were prawns dumped on top of a plate of chips and a few deep friend calamari? as well. Shocking and we had to ask for our money back.
Why on earth did the previous caterers leave. Surely the Bowling Club Ctte didn't take the taxi driver's tender over very popular and proven caterers.
PLEASE, PLEASE get the previous caterers back. We will not be going back to the bowling club until this happens. A...
