Spicy Bite Edge Hill- Best Indian Restaurant in Cairns — Restaurant in Queensland

I had a disappointing visit to Spicy Bites Edge Hill recently. I called ahead to place an order as my child was quite hungry. The lady on the phone assured me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later, expecting the food to be ready for pickup.

To my surprise, I was told at the counter that the kitchen hadn’t even started preparing the order and that they would only begin cooking once payment was made—adding another 15-minute wait. When I asked why I was told it would be ready earlier, I received no explanation. The staff member appeared uninterested in addressing my concerns and continued counting cash instead of responding.

Unfortunately, the experience didn’t improve from there. The food itself felt rushed and lacked flavour—as if it was prepared out of obligation rather than care. It gave the impression that my order was not valued, which was very disappointing, especially after trying to communicate respectfully.

Overall, the customer service and food quality did not meet expectations. Clearer communication and a more customer-focused approach would go a long way in improving the overall experience. I cannot recommend this place based...

Last nite I went to have family dinner at spicy bite edgehill as usually since we come to place we choose this place to have dinner but from last couple of visits this place is not same . As usual we went there and they already have some group inside the restaurant. We give our order and sit outside. First they served fries for kids in quarter plate When I ask the service lady she told yes its Less quantity as compared price and she told I get back to you soon after checking with chef of kitchen staff after few minutes she brings the fires but not hot enough. After that we order dinner and again they try to play over smart and the sever left over Naan from the group come there. The moment service boy bring that food I touch that food already cold and he went back to kitchen and come after five minutes with the same food just done micro and bring back to us . ... And they chef or kitchen staff thing nobody judge it .

This is very unfortunate and unexpected thing from them Very disappointed and unprofessional behaviour. .I used to love this place from last three years but now it not the same...
