There was an awful smell when we arrived. Staff blamed it on truffle but it smelled like an open garbage bin and the smell vanished within 30 secs of querying it. Who knows?! The Palta toast (smashed avo, egg, feta etc) was too rich. The bread had lots of chewy crust that neither a knife nor my teeth could cut through, making it impossible to eat the meal. I asked for a sharp knife and staff were initially completely unhelpful and unsympathetic but eventually found one after I insisted. My meal was cold by then. My co-diner enjoyed the crepes. The girls who brought the food out and served us were lovely however the owner is a very rude person. The food is absolutely terrible. The scones taste like baking soda with that really sharp bitter at the back of your mouth and the pancakes were flat, dense, dry and tasted like a omelette. Told 15 minute wait then 30 minutes later the bad experience on a plate came out. When I asked for a refund I was told that the wrong pancake came to our table at fault of her staff (only one pancake on the menu) and also we were warned about the long (15min) wait which again was half hour. My new favourite Cafe in Cairns. This wonderful little cafe is located in Edge Hill. I've been looking forward to visiting and I was not disappointed. There's an extensive menu of sweet and savoury homemade dishes on offer. All look delicious. And plenty of coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies varieties available also. The decor is modern with splashes of greenery. A cute little play area for small kids is a nice idea and even a very sweet fairy garden outside for the littlies to play with.
