Seriously not good, the place has been rebranded from the Fiveways (tittay bar) to The Great Northern, it is being marketed as a family dinning experience. But don't take your kids there unless they are drug addicts that need to hook up, if so see the drive through attendant... Dude looked like he was tripping some major balls. ||||Anyway, after ordering 2 $30 surf and turfs one medium rare and one medium I stood at the bar for 15 mins waiting to be served. Granted the place was semi busy... But I was the only one in line. Some dude with "sick" sleeve tatts was appearing to do a lot of busy work behind the bar. I made eye contact three times while he desperately tried to find something to do other than serve. Finally one of the poor malnourished waitresses realised I wasn't going away and decided to serve me.||||It was a simple order, one coke, one lemonade and a scotch and soda... I must have been speaking tongues because I had to repeat myself three times, then I had to tell her what each drink was separately as they were retrieved... Finally I am headed back to my table 20 mins has passed since ordering. ||||1 hour later a waitress asked if we were waiting for a meal, after confirming our order again she retreated to the kitchen never to be seen again... Another 15 mins pass and our meals arrived... I knew we were in for a bad time when I saw a chunk of tyre rubber with a handful of chips placed in front of me and my wife, my wife asked which was medium to which the "waiter" shrugged and sauntered off. ||||As I hacked into my tyre I noticed that the "rib fillet" which on a scale of 1=overcooked - 10=forged in the fires of Mount doom, was easily hitting 11.5, my wife's was about an 8.||||If I had have paid 15 dollars and the same steak was served to me by one of the past topless girls I would have nothing to complain about, in my younger years I probably would have walked away with a smile. But the only thing I left with was the foul taste of regret and the possibility of no flatulence for the next three months due to the sheer amount of charcoal I was served in place of steak. ||||I almost forgot.. the dude with the "sick" tattoos.... Budum tss... Is the owner. ||||Had to give at least one star to post... if only there were...
Read moreWe had been to this particular hotel on one other occassion and had found the meals to be quite enjoyable and reasonably priced. So when we had family visiting we decided to take them there for tea. Big mistake! The chicken schnitzel I ordered (as I had done on my previous visit) was so thick it was unpleasant to eat. The person who had prepared it obviously couldn't be bothered to 'bash' it into a schnitzel thickness. It was lukewarm and slapped down in front of me with about 6 cold chips laying next to it. My Mother ordered the pork chops (as she had done on our previous visit and enjoyed immensely) only to have a HUGE and undercooked fore-quarter chop (instead of the pork loin chops she was expecting) put in front of her. It was also accompanied by a scattering of cold chips. My nephew and his wife ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and found it to be very ordinary (and accompanied by the obligatory cold chips). It was very poor indeed and left us wondering how it could be so very different from our first visit there..?? We'll never set foot in the Five Ways Hotel again...
Read moreOrdered 3 different meals from 5 ways. Shanks were awful, the rissoles were great & finally I ordered 2 roast of the day, a caesar salad. When I first posted this review I asked them to replace baked potatoes with pumpkin as I'm allergic to potato. I was rung by the restaurant to take down my post as it was a negative review. When I refused I ordered the wagu rump twice. The portions are huge and I only wanted salad & NO FRIES. The meat was well cooked but $10 for an extra salad is too much for what you get. There was no salad dressing with the salad. Now they refuse to deliver to me. So don't ask or fill out the special instructions as they don't want to accommodate you. When I visited the restaurant for a meal in, everything was done to accommodate you. Why should you be discriminated against by...
