Koffe & Cones — Restaurant in Queensland

So we particularly came to this cafe because we read about it. It’s Sunday and they are open 9am -1pm and we arrive to order at 12:15. They offer an all day breakfast however tell us that the grill has been turned off. So almost 1 hour out of 4 hours open they cannot provide most of their menu as they grill is turned off.

Interestingly the first thing I heard was the grill when we were looking at the menu and when we questioned that it was turned off yet we can hear it the reply was : oh that’s the last order being done now.

Overhearing this a lady with 4 children left immediately and the only other patrons were an older couple. Yep, lie to the customers, like we don’t matter. No customers and no business.

We have been on the road travelling for a week now and we like to spend money in towns to support those smaller businesses. We do that every time we travel. I guess we didn’t look like locals and won’t expect us to ever patronise them again.

I would have left if I was alone. Don’t deserve a cent of my money when you lie to the customer and cannot provide a service advertised with 3/4 of an hour to go.

The coffee was ok but difficult to enjoy given the culture of the place. Not teaching the staff there the right thing at all.

Note: The display in the window (police/fire/rescue) is awesome.

For a small town like Charters Towers this is a great place to have a breakfast or a cup of coffee. The food was very good, the service was great and it was a good place to chill out in the heat of the late morning. The staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable.
