Yesterday evening I strongly wanted to have dinner at Maisie's Seafood & Steakhouse. We passed by several times looking for a place to dine in the previous days and because the children were tired we never opted to go there since it seems always too busy. The welcome waitress easily offered us a table for 4 letting us skipping the couple waiting there before us. Once sitting in the very bright entrance room with aircon, she told us that we should have waited thirty minutes minimum for the mains and recommended ordering starters to spend time waiting. This was an old trick that still worked! We ordered everything, drinks included and started our waiting. After the drinks (a glass of lemonade and a glass of coke for the children and two glasses of amazing Sauvignon Blanche from NZ for the adults) the entrees arrived pretty soon. Generous slices of garlic bread for the kids, with delicate cheese topping, also warm and soft with a thin crispy crust. Five prawns for us adults, literally drowned in warm water with some herbs and garlic, accompanied by four small slices of warm, soft and crispy bread with a few green leaves, shredded carrots, red onions and less than a quarter of a tomato. The garlic bread was $9 and the prawns entree was $20! A huge difference...definitely the mini entree of prawns wasn't worth $20.
After forty-two minutes our mains arrived.
My son was served first with a fish adult basket that looked and was delicious. The dish had a variety of battered fish, a large portion of green salad and well cooked and crispy chips. The other mains arrived together: spaghetti marinara and smoke salmon ravioli with capers for the adults and a child size (huge!) spaghetti bolognese for my daughter. When I saw my plate I noticed the food was little compared to the plate size and I got suspicious. While slowly eating the two slices of smoke salmon with capers that were topping the creamy ravioli, I could taste the freshness of the fish. The combination with capers was perfect, not too many capers, just the right number of them to fully appreciate the smoke salmon combination. After tasting that I couldn't really taste the salmon filling of the ravioli and while eating, the reach cream flavour took over the ravioli one. After ending my main meal I was really satisfied and I thanked God there weren't more ravioli in my plate. Yes, the amount of ravioli was perfect. The two spaghetti meals presented a sauce that was too watery but luckily everything was tasty and my daughter put a thumb up for her bolognese. We were full but while reading the dessert menu we spotted the profitterol and ordered one along with a chocolate mousse. We were grateful we ordered one profitterol because it was very filling and also freshly made. The custard inside the bigne' was warm and the topping dark chocolate very rich. In comparison the mousse was very light but my son couldn't finish it because he was too full from the fish platter (and I suspected from the coke too). We spent $187 for two glasses of good wine, two soft drinks, two entrees, four mains and two desserts. Everything was worth the price except, repeating myself, for the overpriced prawns entree.
The staff was efficient enough and were a bit tired I guess. Infact, when asking for a second bottle of tap water the waitress brought us a glass one. With all that, when in Noosaville and very hungry, remember to dine...
Read moreI had a regrettable experience dining at Maisie’s Noosa recently, and it was hands down one of the worst restaurant visits I've ever had. The moment I stepped in, I sensed trouble. The place was dimly lit, and not in an intimate, cozy way, but in a "let's hide the dirt" way. The decor was a jumble of mismatched, worn-out furniture, with battered chairs, chipped tables, and walls decorated with what seemed like cheap, unprofessional artwork.
Despite having made a reservation, we were left waiting for over half an hour. The hostess was indifferent, offering no apologies or explanations, seemingly more engrossed in her phone than in helping customers. When we were finally seated, the table was sticky, and the menus were so greasy and tattered that I was reluctant to handle them.
The service was appalling. Our waiter seemed utterly rude and uninterested. They mumbled through the specials without making eye contact, and when we asked for recommendations, he shrugged and muttered, "Everything's okay, I guess." It took another 20 minutes for him to return and take our orders, despite the restaurant being nearly empty.
When our food finally arrived, it was a disaster. My chicken supreme, came out medium rare and was as pink as anything, I think the chef mixed up the chicken and steak for someone else. The mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy, and the vegetables were a soggy, tasteless mess. My partner ordered the seafood pasta, supposedly a house specialty, but it was a plate of overcooked noodles in a bland, watery sauce with rubbery shrimp. The portions were tiny, especially considering the exorbitant prices.
To add to the disappointment, the final bill was shockingly high. For what we paid, I expected at least decent food and service, but Maisie’s failed spectacularly on both counts. The restrooms were filthy, with overflowing trash bins and no toilet paper, which only added to the overall sense of neglect.
In short, my visit to Maisie’s was a complete waste of time and money. The awful ambiance, terrible service, and subpar food make this a place to avoid at all costs. Save yourself the frustration – there are plenty of better dining options in town that actually care about their customers and food quality. Maisie’s should be ashamed for serving such poor fare and treating their...

We were going to go to Maisies for our date night last night but couldn't make it, so swung plan B into action and had date night at home with Maisies sumptuous seafood platter for 2 (hot and cold) which I picked up at the arranged time.
The seafood was super fresh and delicious and this time the battered fish was spot on. Couldn't fault anything from the service and our communication with the owner Carlos who organised everything - thank you Carlos for your great service and great food. Highly recommend the takeaway platter with a handy hint. Take a lge Esky with a frozen water bottle for the cold seafood. We live 25 mins from Maisies so we reheated the hot food in the airfryer for 60 seconds and it came out as though fresh out of their fryers.

We hadn't been to Maisies for a couple of years, with last time we were there for a seafood lunch was great value and very good seafood. We went there last Saturday for lunch not knowing what to expect given the time lapse. We ordered a doz Oysters (mixed) for starters and the main was the seafood platter - neither disappointed. The Oysters were fresh and tasty, whilst the seafood platter was plentiful with fresh yummy cold seafood, while the hot seafood was freshly cooked and not one of those that sits in a warmer. The only draw back was the battered fish was a bit dry and thin, but the batter was nice and crunchy, otherwise no complaints. Service was prompt, friendly and welcoming by the lone lady working front of house. We had a great chat without her being intrusive while dining. Overall great value for money which included two wines and a couple of beers. We will be back as we love our...
