Pizza Del Mondo Cairns — Restaurant in Queensland

We have been fairly regular (often weekly) customers of Pizza Del Mondo since it first opened. The last two orders, which we have been informed we have had to place through their website, and have delivered via Uber have been really disappointing compared to the service we are used to.

Tonight we waited an hour and 40 minutes from placing our order to when our food was delivered. Yes, I get the fact that its Saturday night, and probably your busiest time, however;

When we received our order, although the quality was up to standard, the pizza was cold, and a long way from being fresh. It is also now more costly to buy a pizza and have it delivered than it used to be. The Uber delivery driver obviously didnt care less about delivering a cold pizza, as he had already been paid.

I am simply letting you guys know that this new way of doing things is a huge backwards step, certainly as far as our customer experience is concerned.

At this stage, we would really have to think twice about ordering from you guys again, especially with how poor our last two experiences were.

My 2 star rating is not related to the quality of the food, just the poor service, certainly when compared to the service you...

Had the small combo of the Classic and Del Mondo Special, also bought the Buffalo Wing nibbles. This was $31 which was reasonable.

If I had to rate every pizza place I've ever been to, this would be right in the middle. Presentation was good, pizzas looked nice, but overall they were flavourless. The base was dry but like a soft dry toast, not a nice base. It was a thin, but not too thin, the consistency was good. The pizza sauce was red, watery and flavourless. The ingredients were as expected from a pizza place that is not a chain, nothing special but not offensive.

The wings were not great. They were oven cooked and dry with an inoffensive, again flavourless sauce. There is a mild heat, but no flavour. These wings are not crumbed so the sauce is just there on the outside once you pass that its just bland small nibbles size bits of chicken.

I wasn't upset that I tried Pizza Del Mondo for a change. For $31 it was reasonable. The food was meh, I wouldn't race back, but with a few small changes it could have been...

Well I don't write reviews very often but I felt compelled.

I did a phone order for 2 pizzas and admittedly it was a bit confusing. When hubby and I got there we paid and we didn't have long to wait until the guy (presumably the owner?) came out with 4 pizzas. He explained to us that he forgot to cancel the initial order. We tried to pay extra with no luck. We then tried to leave him the only cash ($20) we had in our wallet but he insisted it was okay. Well, for someone to go above my expectations....and make BL🍕🍕DY good pizza's I say thanks !! I too am a small business owner and it can be hard enough to make a $$, not to mention the stress that goes along with it. I will definitely be back 😋😋 and highly recommend anyone wanting a great tasting, value for $$ pizza go and support...
