Taylor's Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

So booked a room for $45 on booking.com and when myself and a friend arrived and checked in we where given our key. We headed up stairs to our room to find it hadn’t even been cleaned after it’s last guests. Went back down and told the girl behind the bar and she said they were going to see if they had a different room. So we waited in the pokies and only about 10 minutes later the girl came to say our room was ready that they cleaned it. So we headed back up to our original room to find the beds and just been made. Nothing else had been cleaned. The floor was very dirty and hadn’t been vacuumed. We headed out for a bite to eat and decided we couldn’t stay there as it was so dirty! This is a hard one to do due to its price. You cannot expect much when paying $35 or $45 for a night in Australia, anywhere else in the world, yes, not here. But let's be clear here, rooms in prison in Australia are more looked after and nicer ;-). So, if you can put up with cleanliness(the lack of), a standing fan that doesn't do anything, maybe a giant rat or 2 crossing your path while going to the outside toilet in the middle of the night and still think it's worth it for just a quick 5 or 6 hrs sleep before your flight, go for it, I would prefer not to. Unfriendly staff, upon booking we were informed there was a luggage room, only to be told to store our valuables behind the bar which could be seen by all and regularly left unattended as they catered to the restaurant next door. When I asked the elderly bartender about why there wasn’t a luggage room she simply stated “what do you expect it’s Taylor’s hotel love”. This statement says it all about the place, the hotel room was unpleasant at best. Room clearly hadn’t been cleaned ( especially the fridge) and the windows taped up.
