Travelled for business and stayed in Queen Studio Room.
Great size bedroom with desk and well appointed power outlets. Very comfortable bed. If you are light sensitive, take an eye mask as the outside lights creep into the bedroom. Otherwise, I had a great sleep.
Large lounge / dining area and kitchenette equipped with hot plates, microwave, fridge, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups & glasses for 2 people. Frying pan and saucepans provided.
Large modern bathroom with excellent shower pressure, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower cap provided. Fluffy clean towels.
Nice outdoor patio with views across the adjacent bowls club.
Very clean rooms. Iron and ironing board provided. There was a musty smell when bedroom and kitchen cupboards were opened. Unable to smell when cupboards were closed though. This did not impact my stay, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Highly recommend staying at Shakespeare Hotel for business and leisure. I will stay again.

Read moreBooked a deluxe king room, unfortunately there was nothing deluxe about it; if we had not been so tired we would have gone elsewhere. Happy to do old but never happy to do dirty. The room had been sprayed with a ‘deodoriser’ that was more of a stench, was totally overpowering and cloying, so much, so that we slept with the window wide open. No fan in room, bedside lamp not working, lounge grungy, cigarette burns on toilet seat and vanity, dirty tiles, stained and ripped bedding, carrots from previous people in the fridge that kept nothing cold let alone produced ice, dead bugs and no empty shower wash container, but there was a small bar of used soap. Dinner menu not the same as online and needs to be updated, so went elsewhere to eat. Only positive thing out of all the negatives, were the carpet and curtains looked new. Would never ever stay...
Read moreThis is my 2nd review of this motel. The most negative point in the hot season for this place is the aircon location - pointing directly to the bed. Thinking it should not be an issue in June we stayed there again. |That was an awful experience. The cleaners used some VERY strongly scented air spray/freshener that caused very bad headaches after 15-20 minutes in the room. We opened the windows and in about half an hour the air became more breathable, but the room we stayed in, faced a busy Shakespeare Street with heavy traffic even on weekend nights. Once windows were closed, the smell of this awful air freshener returned in full along with a headache. We could not sleep at night & left at sunrise. Very disappointing. We are not staying there again and do not recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a...
