Jamaica Blue Mackay Sydney St Markets — Restaurant in Queensland

0 stars. It was an absolute disgrace going to Jamaica Blue on Sydney Street today. It was quiet at the ‘restaurant’ so I ordered Eggs Benedict with Bacon for breakfast & when it came out I was absolutely disgusted to see that the bacon looked like it had been thrown on the grill for not even a minute!! It was still pink and there was little to no brown on it at all from being cooked. I took one or two bites and realised it was still chewy & soft from being basically raw! Not to mention it was VERY GREASY. I instantly started to feel like I was going to be sick from taking only 1 or 2 bites & I still feel very sick a few hours later. When I politely took my issue to an older man with a golf hat on who was working there he proceeded to argue with me for around 5 minutes saying “this is how we have to prepare it here” & “that it isn’t raw” after I had asked 1st for it to be cooked more, then for a full refund. He refused for it to be cooked more or for a full refund and said “all I can do is put it in a takeaway container for you”. We ended up leaving because there was nothing we could do. Will definitely be passing this information onto anyone & everyone....

We received a drink order and a food order which were not correct but that was fine. We then received 2 saucers of maple syrup that were full of ants and these were used over each of the pancakes that were orders. We sent them back to be re-made and the owner/chef walked out and argued for 10 minutes that there were no ants on the pancakes even though we showed him the ants. He then refunded those 2 stacks but gave back my pregnant Fiance her stack of pancakes with the ant maple syrup just wiped off instead of re-making the pancakes. There were still ants present on her pancakes and the owner/chef was not going to re-make the pancakes and we did not receive our refund as he was only willing to refund 2 of the stacks. If the owner/chef had just remade the pancakes we would have been happy but the fact that he wanted to argue about there be no ants when there clearly were was just appalling. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and packed with unique flavours. From breakfast options to sandwiches, salads, and more, there is something for everyone. Excellent Coffee with its exceptional coffee selection. I can rave about the rich, smooth, and well-balanced flavours of their coffee. I will praise the baristas for their skill in crafting perfectly brewed cups of coffee. Friendly Atmosphere with the warm and inviting ambiance . The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their menu offerings. Additionally, the comfortable seating and cozy environment make it a great place to relax or catch up with friends.
