After our trip to Heron Island we thought we would quickly head over to the brewery for a short stop.
Boy were we wrong. After ordering our beers we started talking to the owner. A very friendly and funny guy. He proudly told us about his award winning beers, which led to a short tour of his brewery and the history behind it. He explained the values where the brewery stands for and how it is anchored in the history of the region.
We got to taste a selection of his prize winning beers. Which were great to the last drop, and he gave us some recommendations on other brewery's along the road which were worth a stop.
All in all a super experience which made our day.

Read moreIf you look up "great" in the dictionary, you may find in the description "Ward's Brewery!" Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great service, great passion...... Michael Ward, the owner, exudes passion, vision, and pride. If more business owners were like Michael, Australia would be a much better place and in a much better position! I thoroughly enjoyed the many beer selections, with the "Pale Ale" being my favourite, closely followed up the "American IPA." We enjoyed the experience so much we came back the following night! This is a truly amazing place to relax, have a drink and at 5:30pm a limited selection of fine food! Highly recommend you come and check this Brewery out for yourself! You'll won't be able to...
Read moreThis was a nice little brewery that we stopped in on the way through town. The staff were fantastic and very helpful about information about the area, and the beers we had were tasty, however... usually when I visit a brewery, I'll get a tasting paddle to try a few beers before buying a schnooner or two. Unfortunately, at Ward's they charge $35 a paddle. Instead we just bought a couple of schooners and didn't get to try too many. Way tooo expensive for a paddle in my opinion. Went for the better value option. The day after this, we stopped in at Ballistic Brewery in Bundaberg where they were $16 a paddle! We ended up trying a lot of beers, bought a couple after the paddle, and enjoyed trying the range so much I even...
