Wow. Just wow. We were staying up the road at #siestaapartments and needed a meal. There were a few pubs within walking distance but also a pizza place, sushi place and lastly #khattiscurrylounge Do not judge a book by its cover - the decor isn’t funky or even Indian style but wow - the food was amazing. We were greeted by Talia who quite frankly, is probably one of the most brilliant waiting staff I’ve ever met. Friendly, knowledgeable, runs front of house on her own and nothing was too much trouble. She’s a gem. We ordered a chicken tikka entree - tenderly tasty with mint sauce. For mains we had lamb saag and dhaniya chicken accompanied with roti, raita and rice. All dishes were fabulous and heat intensity mild. Would liked to have had the gulab jamin- alas, no room left for me. Portion sizes were perfect. From order to table was around 20 minutes, so not a long wait. The takeaway orders came thick and fast via the phone. There were about 30 diners in there while we ate so good patronage. This place has a good reputation and doing a good trade. Bonus - BYO. Prices reasonable. Leftovers were able to be taken home. Thank you to Talia and the chef - made our visit to Sale that much better. Careful Melbourne restaurants - this place could teach you a...
Read moreWe ordered from the Moe restaurant and will never do so again. It was an hour late, barely warm, small serves (the bread was as thin as papadams, the raita and chutney were in tiny containers which were barely half full). We asked for our main meals to be 'medium hot' instead of 'mild', but they were barely mild. All in all, there was nothing positive about this experience. I very rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but, as I appreciate peoples' honest reviews, I'm giving an honest review myself. I felt sorry for the guy who delivered our order. As he apologised for the late delivery, his shoulders looked slumped and he looked defeated. Nothing was his fault, but he looked liked he felt it was. A very disappointing...
Read moreWe visited Khattis curry house because the reviews were good. We ordered samosas and chicken tikka for starters. The complimentary papa dams were dripping in oil. The samosas were stale and had been re fried. Three of the six samosas we ordered were burnt and inedible. The chicken tikka was just pieces of chicken that had been fried at some point and reheated before serving. We decided not to order mains because of the poor quality of food. We paid and told the waitress that we would to speak with the cook. The cook rudely defended his food even though he could see that we had been unable to eat the food. Very poor food and a very rude and...
