Thai @Sale — Restaurant in Sale

I ordered a Pad Thai at Sale Thai 'restaurant'. Out came a gluggy mess with a red sauce. No garnish at all - no bean sprouts, no peanuts, no lime wedges. I queried this and was told by the kitchen that peanuts (ground nuts) are never part of Pad Thai. Hmmm. I asked for some lime wedges to squeeze over the very plain soggy noodles - I was told there were NO LIMES in the kitchen. Think about that for a moment. Thai restaurant - no lime.....eventually, with huffing and harring, I was brought three slices of lemon from the bar, pretty well impossible to squeeze! My friend ordered a seafood dish, you could have played ping pong with the calamari - no evidence of anything being freshly cooked, I have a fear there is a room full of microwaves out the back and that Sale is being taken for a ride. Don't generally review and refrain from giving poor reviews as it does affect a small business. However felt compelled to give an honest feedback. We were the first customers last evening to an empty restaurant . Placed the order on the counter as assumed that was the trend. Once we sat, the waitres informed us that eating in was 50% more expensive than takeaway..that was a shocker. In a small town, one would assume the management would welcome some customers on the floor but these thought otherwise. Anyway , we take the takeaway home only to learn that the Pad Thai was made in a sweet and sour tomato sauce which is so unlike Thai cooking as tomato flavoured sauces are not part of Thai flavours. I ordered two entree dishes from this resturant to takeaway, and when I received it I was disgusted. The amount of food I got for the amount of money I paid was a rip off. $19.00 for five tiny dim sims and six tiny spring rolls. I went back and complained to the manager and she was not sympathetic at all. All she said was 'this is the size of Thai entrees everywhere', mind you this is the first time I have ever seen mini spring rolls and dim sims being served at a Thai resturant for the price of $19.00. As I walked out I heard her say to her employee 'throw it out'. She didn't even have the decency to just give me the food and apologise.
