Hands down the absolute best burgers in Fremantle. The place was half full at 5.30 on a Wednesday night, and we were out the door by 6, The service was that quick. The beautiful loaded fires came out about 6 minutes after ordering them, with the Chilli Con Carne having that good ground chuck flavour. This serve was generous and could almost feed someone on its own.

Burgers were out not too long after and where absolutely spot on. I went the classic Big Rigz to test their core burger, and was not disappointed. Very well seasoned meat, good sauces and a perfect cheese melt. I dropped the tom sauce, mostly so it wouldn't overpower their own burger sauce, and ended up going heavy on their reaper ketchup.

Flavour and balance it is on par with RoyAl's, and was just that slightly bit better constructed than theirs, with the buns buttered then grilled on the inside to prevent sog. Not brioche buns either, which is a good change. This makes it, for me, the new top dog south of the river. Hood Burger remain the undisputed heavyweight kings of Perth, though. It reminded me a lot of OG Hoodburger when they were in the Raine Square food court, before Matt and Tom refined it into the beast it is today.

My housemate had the Korean Chicken burger, and judging by how she completely refused to let me try any of it, it must have been good. She said the Kimchi cut through the fried chicken grease really well and it was also well balanced, with nothing on it you couldn't taste.

I'll be back to try more of their...

We had high hopes for our visit to Big Rigz. In the interest in being honest (& not just dishing out 5 stars willy nilly). It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't as highly rated as we hoped. Burgers were tasty, but we've had better. We tried a variety of burgers. The smoky rigz was tasty but the bun obviously became very wet quick and difficult to eat. Overall, while we didn't realise at the time, but much much later at home when we were all very thirsty, we'd describe as tasty but salty. Enjoyable experience with great service, but I'd probably try another place next time (we're on a mission to try all the popular burger joints in perth). One of our teens didn't finish his burger, and said maccas would've been just as good, as much better value. I didnt like how fries didnt come with the burger, you have to order as extra. Shakes were nice, but a standard shake, nothing anazing. Really, really wanted to rate Big Rigz...

I can't recall how many times I have driven down South Terrace and promised myself that I would come here to eat. Well, today was finally the day. I wasn't disappointed. The choice of burgers (beef, chicken and vegetarian) is extensive, alongside sides. My partner and I ordered two different burgers, along with small fries and onion rings. The burgers were moist, well constructed and delicious. Sides were crisp and flavoursome - enhanced by the aioli and ranch dips we ordered. An added bonus was the BYO option, as we sat outside in the sunshine. The owner who served us couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. There is no shortage of burger places. But this was worth the money (around $60 for two). A slight markdown on atmosphere, as I'm not a big one for loud-ish music. But that was a minor thing. If you're looking to enjoy a tasty, well-crafted burger and good sides, this is a great...
