Lets start from the start. Went in there for my wedding anniversary dinner with wife and kids. In morning I called them to make a booking and during that I asked if they can decorate (Balloons) the table we will be sitting on or make some arrangement to make it little more special, and I also said that I am happy to pay for it. After talking to his manager, the girl on the other side replied, sorry we cant as we don't have anything available in house but if I want to bring anything with me they can help with that. Which I totally understand, no issue there. Alright went there, entered the restaurant, decorum was good and over all it looks like a nice place. Lots of tables were occupied, so it looked a good place to dine in. A table for 4 was given and we sat there. We requested our entree's,. Onion Bhaji, Golgapphe, and honey and ginger paneer. Food arrived in reasonable time. Presentation was good and it looked appetizing, well that's where all the good things stopped. Onion bhaji was bland and was not well cooked. The sauce came with onion bhaji was good. Now lets talk about Golgapphe, again presentation was good, but taste was not great. I would say they are 5 out of 10. And then Ginger and honey paneer was all honey and no ginger, again a below average dish. Its time for mains, so we requested, dal, rice, kadhai paneer and 2 garlic naans. Again service was good and we didn't have to wait long. Rice was well cooked, dal was without any salt, kadhai paneer was ok, nothing flash and naan were good. Once again a average main course. After experiencing all that below average food, we decided not to order any desserts and went in to pay for the food. It was 89.50$ for all the food, which again is not an issue and we left. One more thing I would like to talk about is the staff. I don't want to sound rude but want to provide my honest opinion. Staff were ok without being fantastic, no smiles on their faces at all. Will I go back there again, no way. Will I recommend it to anyone, please don't and spend your hard earned money somewhere...
Read moreWent to Copper Chimney with 3 friends for dinner on a Friday night, two of the group were celebrating birthdays. We took our own wine (corkage is $6.50 a bottle), and ordered a bunch of different entrees and mains as most of us hadn't been there before so we wanted to try a large selection.
There was no issue with the food; I would give this restaurant 4 stars if it was just being judged on the food, as the serves were good, the spicing well done, and the meat dishes were tender. I can recommend the prawn sambal, the chicken tikka, and the vege samosas were really good.
My problem with the restaurant was with the rude comments and judgemental attitude of the waiter with the waxed moustache. Even though I explained that we wanted to try a few things, he kept insisting we had ordered too much, and basically accused us of being gluttons. The worst comment of the night was the response of "what, only one?", when I ordered the prawn sambal - as if I was going to order multiple servings of a main dish! The way he treated us was very poor, and there was no sense of him trying to be nice and save us money; it was all judgement about the fact that we were going to eat too much (in his opinion).
A good meal spoiled by a nasty attitude from a member of the wait staff; although the food was good we won't be back. There are plenty of other good Indian restaurants in Perth where the staff don't actively try to make you feel bad about the amount of food you eat when you are on a...
Read moreCopper Chimney (CC) are a wonderful team of delicious food caterers, restauranteurs par excellence. Here are our plenty of reasons to give them our top 5 stars: Recently at our daughter’s wedding we hired CC to cater meals for us. It started with the boat cruise for 50 people where CC customised the Indian chat items for Indian and Western taste buds. This was followed by a traditional ‘mandap’ food with Roomaali rotis straight from the oven. Mehndi night involved lots of finger food, western menu with numerous Pizza varieties and Indian menu with special items like makai roti-sarson saag. Sangeet dinner for around 110 people was a fabulous affair consisting of Mediterranean and Indian stations. The reason for detailing out the menu here is to make a point about how CC is excellent with any kind of food be it North or South Indian, Italian or Iranian. We had hired CC for ten days where they also catered for our guests not only in Perth and Busselton but made sure that hot food was delivered at different places, as previously agreed, throughout our sight- seeing trips. Perfect delicious meals, served on time and an absolute caring, and professional staff under the guidance of Elance Fernando is something that all our, nearly 40 overseas guests, still remember and talk about. We will fondly remember CC for making our daughters big Indian wedding ‘fat’ and memorable. I don’t suppose I need to do any promotion for CC since ‘good wine needs no bush’. Top marks...
