On a recent visit to Perth and looking for somewhere to have dinner on my own, Akiras was just down the road so I thought I'd give them a try.
I was warmly welcomed & seated by a lovely woman behind the counter. To say that the menu is comprehensive is an understatement! There is quite literally something for everyone here. Italian, Indian, Mexican, European, fusion, they also have gluten free, vegetarian and nut free options. Now I encounter the biggest challenge of all....it all sounds so delicious!!!
I ordered: The arancini for entree: PERFECTION. Crispy and crunchy on the outside, oozy cheesy goodness in the middle, on a sharp and flavourful tomato sauce.
The evening special of pan fried snapper, mashed potato & five beans for main: SCRUMPTIOUS. A perfectly cooked and generous piece of snapper on a bed of dreamy buttery mashed potato, dressed with five bean mix and just the right amount of citrus and oil dressing. I took away a piece of gluten free orange & almond cake for dessert later on because by this time I was well stuffed (and satisfied) DELICIOUS.
The chef is clearly very passionate about his work and accomplished and skilled at what he does. It shows in the thoughtful and exciting menu, and beautiful presentation of his food. The service was also efficient and attentive. Thankyou both for a truly delicious dinner, and one of the best I've had out in quite a while.
If I lived in Perth Akiras would get sick of seeing me because I would be there EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Oh well, next time I'm up from Denmark I'll have to work my way through their dinner menu but I'd also really love to try their brunch menu. The french toast is calling me... until...

Parking: Convenient location with lots of parking! Not sure how it would be during the day, but at night time was easy to find a spot.
Restaurant: Spacious and quaint all at the same time. Lots of seating.
Drinks: It is a BYO venue, however there is a liquor store in the same complex so makes life a little easier (in case you forget to bring an alcoholic beverage with you).
Food: Quality of food was excellent! We ordered the chili prawns and goat curry as mains, both were fresh, flavorful and satisfying! The food came out fairly quick, yet was evident it had been prepared and made fresh. The chili prawns came with garlic bread and the sauce was the perfect blend of ingredients, all in all a fabulous dish (surprisingly filling for an entree).
Dessert: We had the apple bomb (I think it was called?), which was apple served in a tortilla wrap (similar to a crepe style) with raspberry, strawberry, ice cream and cream. The sauce was this vast array of flavors which I couldn’t put my finger on… but I couldn’t get enough! Highly recommend.
Picky eaters: I’m pretty sure there is something for everyone!! Even my grandma would be able to find something she likes and she is a fussy eater — will have to bring her here. Global foods means so much choice: tacos, curry, seafood, parmi, salads, etc. Definitely a restaurant to try when you’re meeting with friends and can’t agree on a food everyone likes.
Overall: Would absolutely dine here again!! A beautiful spot with very pleasant staff who are friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back and try their breakfast...
Read moreIt’s so overrated. While the owner kept apologizing, the table just stinks to an extent that I literally dashed out for fresh air. What is more disappointing is the food. The seafood is not fresh and has a fishy taste. This is our first time here and will also be our last.
Edited: Your response to my review just said everything about you and your restaurant. I know how irritated you can be for the two essential elements of a decent restaurant being so explicitly pointed out missing, i.e. hygiene and food quality. Just a warm reminder, calling your customer dog is another stupid way to “advertise” your business. But I reckon for someone who can’t even admit they are too incompetent to meet the basic standards of a restaurant, their not understanding name calling being the least effective way to address an issue is totally expected. Good luck to your stinky family-run business.
P.S. when you share the footage, do remember to show my entering scene to “advertise” how you lied about the “uncleared” table. You wouldn’t dare to show the community that you are not only an unqualified businessman but also a liar, would ya?😂😂😂 also you don’t understand a thing about law I guess. Otherwise how can you have the audacity to say sharing the...
