The Acai Corner — Restaurant in South Perth

My friend and I always stop here mid bike ride for an açai bowl, we always get the power bowl and it’s really refreshing with a good portion of all toppings. No issues there!

HOWEVER, whilst we were sitting down enjoying our açai bowl on Sunday 14/04 (for the owners reference) we overheard a staff member tell a customer that she was using the wrong bin behind the truck and that the bin she was attempting to dispose of her rubbish in was for staff only. The customer was very compliant and sweet, and admitted she didn’t notice the sign. Once the customer walked away the staff member turned around to the other staff inside the truck and said verbatim “I love how people just think they can do whatever they want!” To which another staff member responded “seriously, people just think they’re above the law” this was welcomed by laughter and further commentary from other staff that we couldn’t hear clearly.

Firstly, I’m not sure as to which “bin law” these girls were referring to. Secondly, my friend and I were absolutely disgusted with the staffs unwarranted criticism of a customers innocent mistake. They were completely unprofessional and rude for absolutely no reason.

And that was the last time we supported this...

I regularly visit the Acai Corner food truck in South Perth with my 2 year old son - about once a fortnight and I always receive great service but today was exceptional!! I got myself and acai bowl and didnt bother to get one for my 2 year old as he takes one spoonful and doesnt eat the rest and its a waste but today he just stood in the queue by himself waiting for his own (not understanding I hadn't got one for him). I explained to him that he could share Mummys but he wouldn't have it, he continued to stand at the front of the food truck waiting for his own. One of the lovely employees overheard me and went and got him his own mini one just out of kindness (no charge!). I just thought it was really sweet and a lovely gesture. My 2 year old was stoked - he actually ate the whole thing too! Great, friendly, EXCEPTIONAL...

Definitely one of my favourite açai bowls in Perth. The location is beautiful, right by the water, with some of the best views you’ll find. It’s a great little spot for a Sunday snack and the quality of the ingredients is fantastic.

The only downside for me is the portion size. The bowls are quite small considering the price. While the toppings are generous and well presented, I personally love those big, tall açai bowls that really make you stop and say “wow” when you get them, stacked high with açai and loaded with toppings. At The Açai Corner, the toppings are great but the açai base could definitely be more generous.
