It saddens me to submit a review such as this but my disappointment is too great for me not to. I have been here before and have always loved the food, the ambiance and the staff. At any other time I would give all fives. Today I arrived with my friend for breakfast, she ordered a mushroom dish and I ordered the bacon eggs Benedict. We found a lovely table and chatted as we waited. My friend’s food arrived and it looked good she told me it tasted good. I waited for my meal and she waited, not eating hers as we like to eat together, which is the whole idea of dining out together. I waited, and waited and waited. As one server passed the table my friend beckoned her and the server immediately said, eggs Benedict, before we said a word. So I waited, and I waited, and I waited. I went to the front counter and asked about my meal, the young lady advised me that they were just cooking my eggs. So I went back to my table and “WAITED! Eventually my meal appeared delivered by a none too happy server, the same one. The blackened bacon was overcooked, the eggs were overcooked, the toast was soggy and the whole meal was cold. I returned the meal and told the young server of my upset, she looked at me blankly, no offer of a replacement meal (which of course I would have refused), no offer of a refund and no apology, in fact she never said a word, just looked at me with a blank stare. I wonder if there has been a change of ownership? I may return for a coffee and cake in the distant future (maybe) but never for a cooked meal, once...
Read moreI recently visited Secret Garden Cafe & Patisserie in South Perth, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. Tucked away in a charming location, this cafe offers a serene and enchanting atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped into a hidden oasis.
The menu is filled with an array of delicious options, from freshly baked pastries to delectable breakfast and lunch dishes. I was particularly impressed with their selection of cakes and patisseries – each one beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. The coffee was excellent too, perfectly brewed and just the right pick-me-up.
The service at Secret Garden Cafe & Patisserie was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They made sure that every detail of our visit was perfect, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.
The outdoor seating area is a highlight, providing a lovely garden setting that is both relaxing and inviting. It's a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal or catch up with friends over coffee and pastries.

We were on a hunt for good bakeries when we stumbled upon this place. The reviews were good and the pictures looked promising.
The place looked exactly like the pictures, in fact better. The modest looking front led to a beautiful, lust and tastefully decorated garden restaurant. The seating area was shaded by the trees making it a perfect place for a date. There weren’t a lot of people, but we assumed that’s because of the odd hour (we were there at 4pm)
So for ambience, it was a perfect 5/5
The expectations were high, but the food disappointed. The menu was a bit of a mix with some conventional options of burgers, sandwiches, salads and some specialties. The food in display didn’t really look exciting. We ordered:
Chicken focaccia sandwich: The only good thing about this was the focaccia was nicely toasted. Other than that, it lacked flavour, freshness or even the texture. 2/5
Traditional Greek Moussaka: The flavours were fine but didn’t taste fresh. 2/5
Glass of local red wine (Shiraz): This was the only red and it wasn’t the best.
Overall 2/5
The service was also kind of slow. Nothing stood out. 2/5
They can really step up their food game because they have a wonderful place with great potential in...
