TL;DR: terrible service, inexperienced bar staff, sad and grimy feel inside. Won't be back.
Booked a table for 9:00pm on the website for 2 people. Arrived and nobody greeted us. The waitress behind the bar said, rudely, "We haven't checked the booking system in a long time" which I personally wouldn't have admitted to a customer but hey, there were plenty of tables available so no matter. We were told the kitchen closes at 9pm even though we booked online for 9pm. While we were deciding what to eat, which was a private conversion, the waitress interjected with "You can go to Hungry Jack's or KFC across the road" to which I wasn't able to dignify with a response. Our orders were taken and she returned promptly to inform us that 2 out of the 3 dishes we ordered were unavailable. This was nobody's fault but the attitude was so poor. We opted for a refund and rightly so because the gin and tonic the waitress made was somehow just awful. I'm seriously confused about how terrible every aspect of this experience was, despite only being there for...
Read moreWent there for drinks on a friends birthday. Never been there before. It is a boutique (nice word for small) cafe/bar. I thought it was great. It would be a nice place to have as a local to meet up with friends for a coffee, a drink or a bite. Prices are good. It's an easy walk to the Regal theatre, so I'll remember that for future pre and post show gatherings.
I particularly liked the very friendly and helpful service. I ordered my drink at the bar, then got talking to someone and moved away from the bar. The drink was brought out to me with a smile.
Someone brought a home made birthday cake. There were no issues with it, the bar manager (most likely the owner), was quickly on the spot with a decent knife to cut the cake, when he saw the birthday girl had been handed a plastic cutlery knife to cut the cake.

Read moreI went to get a quick toastie as I had an extremely busy day and had to be somewhere in half an hour, so thought I would get something quick to take. I waited 20 minutes and asked after it politely, was told it would be another 5 minutes or I could take it cold and toast it myself- or could come back later to eat it (which I couldn't do). I appreciate the girl who was trying to come to a solution. However, to get a refund of $9 seemed like the most difficult and inappropriate thing in the world. If I had the time to wait 30minutes for a toastie I would've. But it wasn't an option. Was met with complete attitude. Lost a potential regular customer sorry. This is the second time I've had a bad...
