We tried Crumbed Or Naked today after reading the many glowing reviews.
This is indeed a 'hole in the wall' establishment. You approach the counter, order, receive your meal and leave.
The level of service, as voiced by many reviewers, is of a high standard. The young lady that assisted us was very friendly and thorough, guiding us through the menu and offering multiple suggestions. We eventually committed to a Smoky (BBQ) Bacon chicken wrap, a Honey, Soy & Sesame chicken wrap and, as an unnecessary, eye bigger than stomach side dish, a serve of sweet potato chips with aioli. The wife also grabbed a flat white while we waited. $47 for the bill so acceptable for beach front tourist dining.
We were called for order collection and given a single wrap. I explained that the order was for two wraps and chips. A quick apology and a short wait later, we were given our second wrap and farewelled again. I again reminded the lady of the chips which was met with a good natured apology. Another short wait and the order was complete. A little disorganised but no harm done.
We returned home and immediately dove into our meals. Both wraps were sizeable, really well filled and tasty. Not quite as flavoursome as hoped but still a nice meal. My wife, unfortunately, was given chili sauce which made her experience less enjoyable. As I had requested chilli on my wrap, I can only assume it was incorrectly added to both. The sweet potato chips were the highlight of the meal; packed with taste, salty and coated in aioli. No complaints there.
Overall, although I wouldn't rate this business as a 'must do' or even 'must do again', I can still recommend them to anyone chasing a decent lunch or easy dinner. The service is above average and the meals are guaranteed to...
Read moreIssue: the menu boards are very deceptive and vague, which can mislead your spending decision making.
Food: The food itself which we recieved is fine. Palatable, fresh, what you'd expect at a Cafe or Kebab shop.
Service/Pricing: This drags the rating down. Similar places down south that charge half the price for equal value. Board said $12.50 which seemed reasonable. Ended up paying $65 for 2 wraps and combo of 2x chips and 2x small cans of drink. So, $32.50 each person. The wraps $20 each with 45g chicken, spices, and 5 types of salad. So that makes a can of drink $4 (coke/sprite/water). Chips about $8.50 (burger box size approx 25 chips).
Further notes: If the menu board was explained better, we would've just paid the same amount for premium breakfast elsewhere. Or even an all you can eat buffet breakfast at Novotel Twin Waters, which is arguably one of the best buffet on the coast... for exactly the same price as this breakfast at this shop. Atmosphere being close to beach and in a main thoroughfare is okay.
Conclusion: Avoid if price and value is a deciding factor for you. But if you're not phased by that, the...
Read moreVery Disappointed :(( I was actually quite surprised that you could have so many visible ingredients, yet so little flavour. This place was recommend to me by someone close to me, and the reviews were quite high (4.6/5) so I decided to give it a try.
I think I ordered a garlic and mint chicken wrap with the recommended salads etc. I couldn't even tell you what flavour the chicken was because I tasted nothing.
There's nothing better then hot chips. They are pretty easy to do and you heavily rely on the seasoning/salt as it is just potatoes deep fried. For a place that has chips on heavy rotation, they seemed to just shake the chicken salt on after it's packed in the box which only coats the top layer of chips. The service was good and the view is nice.
The best part about my whole lunch was the icy cold coke can.
I don't want to slam a small business, especially one that has a expensive beach rent to pay, but, I think it's important to be transparent and I hope this review brings some things to the...
