Appalling communication and bad attitude from staff. Reconsider coming here if you are a bigger group (needing to take more then 1 car to get to locations).

We contacted the cafe via instagram message enquiring about the chance of securing a table on a Sunday as we were a larger group with toddlers and aware that the cafe was walk-ins only and very busy on a Sunday. Prompt response, which did not state all individuals had to be present before being seated.

On arrival 1st staff member did not state we all had to be present before being seated as part of our group had arrived early. Then when asked later about being seated advised us they had told us ALL our group had to be present. They did not tell us this. I did not appreciate this dishonestly as it lacked integrity and accountability of their own professionalism.

2nd staff member emphasised we ALL had to be present before being seated and was the person who responded to my instagram message, stating they 'assumed' we would all be present and only take walk-ins with everyone present. They DID NOT state this in their message to me and I was very aware it was walk-ins only.

I did not receive an apology for this miscommunication on their part and they reinforced it was walk-ins only and we all had to be present before being seated.

This ordeal was a waste of our time and the time of other patrons and staff. We took time considering places to eat as we were a larger group with toddlers. The interactions with staff tainted our time at the cafe once seated.

We will not be returning to this cafe...

One star for the manager that came out to tell us that we should have asked for no butter on the Turkish bread so we must pay for a new one! We ordered an eggs Benedict with salmon and the Turkish bread came with butter on it which my wife and mother in law hate! We asked could we please get the Turkish without and the manager came back with the plate to tell us how we should ah e asked for the toast to be in uttered and made a point of the fact we were going to pay for the new toast! Well never will we return for a piece of toast???? What a customer service silly move anyhow why so much butter on a dish with a butter sauce???? Or put it on the side! It doesn’t say it’s buttered on the menu!!!! He was persistent and rude!!!! Two piece of toast!! This attitude comes with the location of a place that catches the tourists so they don’t care!!! There are plenty of choices of place to eat give them a miss! They don’t deserve...

I have visited De Ja Vu Cafe and Bar over recent weekends while staying on the coast.

If a solid 0 star option was available it would earn that. Quality / Quantity does not equate to the price paid. At first I thought it might have been just a bad day in the Kitchen but it was sorely mistaken. The food lacks seasoning in general, over inflated prices, pancakes are doughy, salad (@26.90 with chicken) is depressing.

Staff (crew) are alright and service is pretty good but the supervisors and female (manager? / owner?) with glasses need customer service training. They are rude, short and come across as rather belligerent. I have never been glared at when I eat like I did with my last visit after questioning the menu due to my previous less than satisfactory experiences with the food.

To be honest other cafes along the front have far better offerings where you don't get made to feel like you're being scrutinised while...

Homely Sweet Spot by the Beach We stumbled upon De Ja Vu Café and Bar on a lazy afternoon and what a delightful find it was! Right across the beach, this place carries a chill beach vibe that immediately puts you at ease. We decided to indulge in some cakes - I went for a Coffee Log while my wife chose the Black Forest. Both were absolutely amazing with just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. The view of the beach added a serene backdrop to our sweet indulgence. But what really made our visit special was our waitress, Marcia. She was very kind, sympathetic, and had a warm demeanor that just brightened our experience. It’s not just the great food and view here, but the people like Marcia who add a personal touch to the place. Will definitely be back for more sweet treats and hopefully, more of Marcia’s cheerful service!

One of the more popular breakfast and lunch spots along the Esplanade with a buzzy atmosphere, particularly during weekends. We came here on a Saturday and only a couple of tables were free. A good selection of breakfast favourites with daily specials as well. Decent coffee. We tried the eggs benedict with salmon - the eggs were perfectly poached, sunrise brekky - avo on toast with feta cheese and the bacon & egg wrap. The servings are an ok size, if you have big appetite, you may need a little extra! Service is friendly and attentive and the prices are in line with other cafes in the area. Grab a seat facing the beach and enjoy the views.

We only came for a coffee and cake, so I can only comment on these. New York cheesecake was a generous serve. I question whether it was a traditional NY cheesecake, which I was craving, so was a little disappointed. It looked very pretty, but I think it is required that any decoration (or garnish) must be edible. I don't believe this one was. The coffee was a rounded brew. I had a small flat white, but the cups were so big, I found it too milky and weak. I added an extra shot for $1. Looking at the burgers and chips being served, I could be tempted back for a meal. The staff were excellent. Attentive and personable.
