I was so disappointed with my experience at the Coffee Club on the 1st of Jan 2017. (I understand that this day was probably busy, but when I arrived there were minimal customers). First of all, my friend ordered a chicken schnitzel and was afterwards informed that there was not any left. Then, the waiter brought out my friends pizza; myself and 3 friends of mine awaiting for our meals. 20 minutes later, my friend had finished his pizza, whilst my friends and I had still not received our meals. This made us very upset, as it is commonly respectful for all meals to come out at approximately the same time. For this reason, I went to the counter and informed the waitress of our situation, and asked where our meals were. She went to the kitchen to sort it out and not long after, finally brought out the rest of the meals which I was very pleased about. However, another disappointment arose. As I looked at my chicken ciabatta I realised that as the meal had advertised, it did not have lettuce. I therefore took my meal up to the counter to receive the lettuce that my meal was suppose to originally have. When I came back to the table my friend realised that she also did not receive her side salad that she paid $5.50 for, and my partner did not get the side of gravy that he had paid for. My friend got her side salad but my partner did not bother asking for the gravy considering that we were sick of having to come up to the counter and request items that we should have already had. Before leaving the cafe, the waitresses offered us a can of soft drink which we accepted. However my friends and I still left very disappointed with our experience and because of this will most likely not return again. I have worked in hospitality myself for 6 years and I know that these issues could and should have been avoided, the staff need to lift their abilities in order to meet the customers...
Read moreItook my five young granddaughters for lunch here today and was quite disappointed. When we first arrived we were greeted warmly but it went downhill from there. Firstly, the girl taking order was very short with us even though we were the only people in the queue. Once our food came out the server asked who the caesar salad was for. Since none of us had ordered one we looked at each other confused, to which he added that it was “the one without anchovies” (implying that it was a personalised order). My fourteen year old granddaughter then said that she had ordered the chicken pesto and feta salad, to which he rudely replied “well that’s not what’s on the docket.” As it was specifically noted as “without anchovies”, we thought it must’ve been for another table as it couldn’t have been an accidental click of the wrong item on the ordering system (the girl taking order also read it back to us and said the pesto chicken salad) which we suggested to the man, who then replied rudely again that it was with our docket and that he doesn’t have a pesto chicken salad. He then asked rather firmly if we wanted him to go get the right salad, but my young granddaughter now intimated by the middle aged man said it was fine (plus we didn’t want to waste any food). We moved on, disappointed in his initial response more than the actual mistake with the order. The salad and rest of the food was nice, however, the steak in the steak sandwich was incredibly grizzly and quite frankly inedible. Having worked in many restaurants myself, I know how common and easy it is to make mistakes with orders as we are only human. However, we did not appreciate his attitude when dealing with...
Read moreWent with kids as a treat for doing well on their reports. Asked the lady working there if we could sit in the outside area with our two small dogs, was told yes. We sat nr the side walk so the dogs actually sat on the sidewalk. We ordered food and hot drinks. Then a miserable man came up saying dogs are not allowed. We replied we had asked and was told yes, he said she is not to know. I said she works here. He then did not apolgise or smile or say can we work with you to sort this, bluntly asking my wife to sit there with her arm over a barrier holding the dogs on the overside where dogs and people are walking. We said we would leave, give us our food as takeaway. Drinks had already come so were taken in and poured in take away cups but the tea was far too strong by this time so this I left. One burger was wrong so he grabbed it and went and sorted it and let us go without ever apologising. Never again Coffee Club, we are locals and you are relying on visitors for business if you are this way with your customers. Another lady said thanks and bye on her way out and the same miserable sod could not even smile at her. You are in the...
