Emjays Coffee — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Appalling customer service. After ordering our food, I asked the young girl if she could clear our table as none of the tables were clear and there was dirty dishes and sauce on the table.The response we received was "I'm busy right now but I'll do it when I'm ready". While I thought this wasn't an appropriate response, we waited patiently as she continued to make coffees. I then saw her clearing down another table and then proceeded to continue making coffee. After waiting for a considerable amount of time, I thought I would clear the table myself and went over to ask if she had a cloth that I could borrow. She said "no we don't and at the moment we are under staffed due to it being a public holiday" and began to cry. I then explained that we had waited and thought she was unacceptable to ignore our request and that due to Covid, hygiene is important regardless of their staffing issues. I then had a young man come up and rudely suggest that my complaint was "harassment" - I was simply providing constructive and reasonable feedback. I would never go back here again and would advise that staff be trained in basic...

We have visited Emjays Maroochydore on numerous occasions over the last 6 years, the service and food has always been very good. However today was another story. In the hour and half that we were at our table, there were quite a few tables that hadn't been cleared. When they were cleared, no sign of them being hygienically cleaned for customers. We ordered our food and drinks and asked for the coffee to be extra hot, but this was not the case and as usual the drinks came out first with no sign of our food. Coffee finished and still no sign of our food. Finally our food came out. We had to order another coffee to have with our dessert (which we had to remind the girls). When the scones came out, we asked the girl if they were heated and she said yes, but they were cold. Hopefully they improve their act...

My wife and I were feeling peckish after looking around in the centre and we were walking past here. Out the front there was a very friendly and exuberant young man named Riley. I haven not met someone this nice in hospitality in a decade! He was brilliant! I was very sceptical about the food at first because I can be a bit hard to please, but the breakfast Turkish sandwich was absolutely out of the world. Riley also recommended the chips, which to my surprise lived up to the hype! We were absolutely blown away by them! Easily some of the best I've ever had. The other young man there was also incredibly nice and super friendly. Very cool people. Great food, great coffee, and probably the best service I've had in years.
