Finbar's Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

This has one big plus point - the pizza bar which is next door (Jen's Woodfired Pizzas, which is excellent. Oh and it has Coopers on tap. Otherwise its a characterless small bar, which used to have great Irish music sessions, until the new managers suddenly stopped a weekly event that had been running for 7 years. Now it has a fairly mediocre selection of music events and sometimes the tyranny of sports events blaring away on a large screen. Awful sound system at gigs. Every now and then a good act plays there, but it's hard to enjoy because of the poor sound. Other reviews have said "it's where the locals go" but there's actually little choice in Maleny, so they do. The redneck "pub" downtown, the RSL and Brouhaha, that is it. In summary, go for a pizza at Jen's - closed Mon/Tue - and maybe get a glass of wine with your pizza. It is the best...

Fantastic woodfired pizza, will be back!!. Best in the area. Worth every cent....absolutely packed with toppings and flavour. Owners stayed back to compete our order and eat/ have a drink at the bar. Bar is great for a cosy local. Absolute minimal mass market here, focus is locally sourced craft (proper craft beer) and equally good sourced wines. All of fair prices and range. Lots of line up live music for Jan 2023. And a craft beer group every Sat. This will be a local to watch! Also fabulous non mass market bottle shop next door. Great chat with owners and locals. What a great venue this place is. It's quite small but packs a punch. Great woodfired pizzas, great music and best of all, great welcoming hospitality. The bar staff are wonderful.Booking is a must. Very popular. Everytime we visit from Brisbane this place is buzzing. Last here 10 Oct and Gian was playing keyboard, guitar and harmonica and singing. What a talented young fella.
