Lone Star Rib House Kawana — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

WARNING for those you want ALL YOU CAN EAT RIBS. OK so i never judge a business by its reviews as people generally only leave a review unless they had a bad experience, However i feel i should contribute to my experience. My boys have been pushing me for Ribs so i thought ill take them to Lone Star for the "All you can eat Ribs" we seen the reviews about not being able to have more UNLESS you finish your first plate and i thought to myself thats fair. So we asked the staff whats the go with the All You Can Eat, they replied its all you can eat Pork Ribs, Beef Ribs and Chicken Wings (never mentioned the chips). I then asked if it comes with anything else and they said YES Chips. We got our first plate and it had 1 x Beef Rib, 2 Chicken Wings and Chips (normal amount of chips for us as i see reviews say they load you up with chips but this was not the case for us) it took a long time to get our meals even thou the restaurant was very quiet. We ate our chips, Beef Rib and wings and waited to be served for more (took about 30 mins wait again) eventually they asked and i we all said yes we would like some more but can we please get pork ribs, The staff responded with "Its beef Ribs, Pork Ribs and Chicken Wings" to which i told them understand that BUT we didn't get any pork ribs on our first plate.. 20 mins later out comes the next plate. This time it had 1 Chicken Wing, Smaller amount of BEEF ribs and NO PORK Ribs and a generous serving of chips. So we go to eat whats been presented in front of us only to find the next serve beef ribs have not been slow cooked but what seems to be fried boot leather. Using the sharp steak knives provided we could not even cut a slither of meat off. One of my sons was persistent and did cut some off only to be stuck trying to chew it. We had to leave at this point as we also booked for a Movie in the next door cinema. As we left they asked how was it and we said the first plate was fine but the second plate is inedible (you can't eat it) to which they said sorry. 3 of us ate that night and 3 of us got far less then what you would get if you just ordered off the menu. ALL 3 plates first time round NO PORK RIBS, all 3 plates second time round Inedible (TOUGH BOOT LEATHER) to me this certainly appears to be an intentional scam, we will give you the soft cheap beef ribs and if you ask for more we will serve you what you 100% wont be able to eat and finish. This is my warning to anyone...

Tonight was the first time in years having visited Lone Star, and honestly couldn't be happier with the service. Krystal who took our order was such a lovely presence making us feel totally welcome, she was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we entered the establishment Amy was bubbly and inviting, and was quick to seat us, clearing a table immediately to make it happen, leaving no time to waste. Sianna working behind the bar was amazing also quick with the drink orders and absolutely outstanding service, in the time we ordered to the time we received our drinks was less than two minutes, and the most amazing part about this feat was that the entire restaurant was full, bar maybe a table or two, and she had so many drinks to make which made us extremely appreciative of the level of effort put it. Actually every one of the staff members on tonight was on another level, we were there for more than an hour, and not once during an extremely busy period did any of the staff not have a smile on there face and was wonderfully polite and helpful. The service wasn't the only thing about the night that made it memorable, the food was absolutely exquisite, and took almost no time to get from ordering to receiving our meals, which was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend this Lone Star to anyone who is in the area. And anyone out of the area, well worth the travel for the food and service!

Great Night Out! - wow.

Went out for a family dinner date 2A 2C on Friday Night.

We had called ahead of time to book a table, inside. Recommend you to do to avoid getting a table, it's a popular place.

Arrived at the front desk to check in, received with a friendly smile and taken to our booth.

Received fantastic and friendly service by Tahlia, Brandon and staff.

We ordered a couple of Toasts, Garlic Herb 3 Cheese & Bacon, Bruschetta. The bread was fresh, lightly crispy with tasty toppings.

Our meals were The Denver Nuggets (kids meal with ice cream), Southern Fried Tenders, California Green & Gold and The Old Dave Tribute with double patty. The meals came out in a timely manner, Hot to eat and pretty darn tasty. The servings are my kind of serves, big! Colourful, well presented.

We ordered one of each of the desserts. Full of flavour, appealing and hit the spot. Churros (lightly crispy, fresh), New York Cheesecake (baked), Waffle On and Mississippi Mudslide (Brownie). So delish. Recommend them all.
