On a Roll Sushi Kawana — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Terrible experience, came in at lunch time after a motorbike ride. Ordered some sushi from the tablet and it came and was good, I ordered the green tea and when it came out it tasted like water so I informed the young staff member and she was nice enough to change it for me to a bottled tea after blaming the new girl for not making it right, Mind you she took off the $5 water tea and I still paid for the bottled tea. Here's where things get interesting.. I ordered another round of gyoza and prawn nigiri on the tablet but I couldn't see the chef making it so I asked the young staff member if she could see if they were making it as we had 2 serves on our bill but only got one. She went to the kitchen and rudly informed me the chef was gone so I couldn't have more gyoza which I replied with thays fine just take it off the bill, she then began accusing me of lying and said that I did get my food and that the amount of plates I had didn't match up... which it did. I explained to her that she only needed to take thr gyoza off and she began giving me attitude saying she gave me my tea for free which isn't true. She was one of the rudest people I've come across in a long time and after realising her mistake she didn't even apologise she just ignored us as we left the poor new girl that saw her behaviour had to apologise on her behalf and she looked mortified. Your sushi is amazing, don't let terrible staff with shocking attitudes tarnish your buisness. Workers come and go, I'd suggest getting rid of her, she's a liability. All in all terrible service...

Went with a group of 7 of us, unfortunately they don’t have tables big enough so we had to split into two separate booths. The sushi train was average, we ordered some food from the kitchen as well. We found that any of the grilled items tasted like they were soaked in butane, I understand that that is how they char them but we watched the chefs use two butane torches about 3mm away from the food and hold them there for a long time. It really shouldn’t be held that close to the food as it’s not good for people to be consuming those chemicals. It should be held away at a further distance to avoid that awful chemical taste. It resulted in us not being able to finish some of the dishes we ordered as the taste was sickening. Hopefully they can rectify this improper practice to improve the quality and taste of their food. Service was kind of slow, they didn’t bring us more water after asking, so we only ended up getting one bottle for everyone. Otherwise we enjoyed our time...

Went here last Tuesday as the one in Birtinya was closed. Wife and I ordered, a few minutes later I orderedanotheritem as well. Wife's food came out, the second item I ordered came out (it looked rushed and falling apart, but tasted fine). After my Wife's second order arrived I asked what was happening with my main order (this was 15-20 minutes after the order was made). They had completely missed it, so I wouldn't have even got it had I not asked. When it came out, it was clearly rushed and inconsistent in the filling. I also ordered some karaage chicken, that was quite doughy in flavour and I couldn't finish it. To top the experience off, we saw a cockroach run across one of the counters as we left.
