Beachside Resort — Hotel in Sunshine Coast Regional

If this would allow me to split rating I would rate location as a 5,mainly as it is near surf beach, we surfed every morning , there is a park with BBQ and kids play area, kids enjoyed skateboarding and scooter riding everyday. Short drive to Point Cartright and scenic views. Kawana shopping centre is a short walk away, there are variety of shops, cafes, massages and nail parlours, restaurants and Events Cinema, what a perfect location. The resort pool is new and renovated and so was the decking around it, such a relaxing spot. There is a nice coffee nook downstairs which opens Wed - Sun. Thanks for the free coffee voucher and also 10% discount off meals at Kawana Surf Life Saving Club when we showed our room key.

As hard for me to do this, I rated a lower number only for the room we had which was 6B, it had the back view not ocean view (check out attached photos). Firstly, there was a sandwich bag around the smoke detector. Air condition was new but it was covered in dust and mold, we had to wipe down as we had children. Fans and bedside tables were dusty. There was a part of the kitchen tile that was broken with a bit missing and with a toddler was dangerous. The only way we could fix it was to buy blu tac. The fan in the main bedroom that management knew about had only one setting which was on high. It was hot in this room so unfortunately we needed it on but the loud noise and also squeaking sounds make it a few uncomfotable nights. One of the other bedrooms, fan was either high or low and no in between. The 3rd bedroom had a new fan. Shower in master bedroom screeched when turned on and stayed screeching. On a side note, mainly for safety only, be aware of usage of hot water, turning hot tap is scorching. Another negative was the dining table was dirty with oil marks. (photo attached). The balcony was not clean and had beer caps still laying around. Wifi was not working.

A few other positives were bedrooms were quite spacious and beds comfortable. New lounge in living area was a bonus and photos around apartment was a nice touch with beachy effects. Loved the surf board canvas in main room. Nice.

At time of booking most rooms were fully booked so we ended up in this room but there are other renovated rooms that can be requested unfortunately we missed this. If you read this and do not mind Room 6B go ahead and book.

I would like to add that Managers assisted us as best they could and were very helpful.

Beachside resort thanks for having us, our children enjoyed tennis and ping pong. In future I would choose ocean view, renovated rooms....

We stayed for three nights in January ,they only had the downstairs courtyard hot tub apartment available.we would have preferred a view.||When we got there it was raining ,there was a cane couch with large think foam cushioning ,getting wet .||We went inside ,so dark you could hardly see ,it was an older style .low ceilings and nice big rooms .two bathrooms and kitchen .||The furniture was completely outdated and needed replacing .||I sat on the couch which had an ingrained smell ,with really old scatter cushions ,that didn’t match and were smelly ,we put them outside the whole time .||Then I sponged the couch down ,and aired it …we ended up buying upholstery cleaner to clean it / get the smell out .||The sheer curtains were not shear because of the mildew .||The air conditioner smelt mostly so we didn’t use it .||There was mould on the roof in the second bedroom .||The bed had a blanket ( wool type) I don’t think this would be washed between guests ,Covid ! Not that I know that.||The fridge had a really bad smell as well.||The empty shampoo was still in the shower .||It was dark and dingy n even when the sun was out .||When I left I spoke to someone about this .They explained how they were individually owned and the owner it was up to the owner to fix them .||Very hard for them .||This apartment should not be rented ,and at least you should be warned and it should be much less than $245 a night .||We have now moved to Surfside a few hundred mtre away ,on the beach ,three bedroom with views and it great condition .same price for 2 bedroom .||I’m sure lots of the apartments are fantastic ,we got...

We were planning a last minute weekend getaway to Mooloolaba. Unfortunately we couldn't find a suitable hotel with a reasonable 2 bedroom room rate, Beachside Resort in Kawana Waters caught our eye. Their 2 bedroom apartment room rate was a lot cheaper than a basic 1 bedroom apartment in Mooloolaba. Our booking with Beachside Resort was super easy, we even received a courtesy call from the Resort reception, informing us that our apartment was available earlier than the scheduled 2.00pm check in. Fantastic customer service guys! My biggest pet hate, is getting a room which doesn't match the website photos, or it't a very tired hotel with mouldy bathroom tiles and poor house cleaning. However, this is not the case with Beachside Resort, their house cleaning clearly do a fantastic job and they should be commended. Our apartment was extremely clean and tidy. The complex is certainly not super new, nor super modern, but it is located within walking distance to the beach and the Kawana Waters Shopping Centre. Mooloolaba is also a very quick 5 minute drive. If you can't find what you are looking for in Mooloolaba, and if you want a slightly quieter setting without the noise and traffic issues of busy Mooloolaba, maybe you consider the Beachside Resort in Kawana Waters. If I could make a small recommendation, I would ask Management not to place so many busy "do not" signs in the lift. I'm absolutely sure you could find a more creative, way of informing your guests - how to respectfully treat your Resort. The signs are super busy with crazy fonts and too...
