The Curry Bowl — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Recently moved up from the gold coast and was looking for a curry place. on a whim, tried this one. since then i've been back about 7 times. it's fantastic. i've not eaten in yet, but it's always doing quite a good sit down trade. the service is fantastic, very friendly staff every time i've ordered with extremely polite and professional phone manner.

the foods great. the flavours are superb. i've tried different dishes every time and haven't been let down. the prices are seriously good. my girlfriend and I get a curry to share (free large rice included), naan, and salad and we're full after, with the total coming to around $25. crappy fast food is more expensive these days.

i'd honestly recommend this place to anyone, i've not found better elsewhere.

update: lately something's changed. their prices have inched up a bit. the past few times i've eaten there i've been disappointed. we normally get a butter chicken (which was without a doubt the best i've ever tasted, spicy, rich, and moreish) and something else. the past few times the butter chicken has been decidedly average. we got a lentil curry as well last time and it was so bad we threw it away. flavorless and bland.

i'm not sure if they're had a change in recipes / chef / business restructure, but either way i can't recommend it as highly as my previous review. I'll give it one more try and give...

We do not believe in being critical about food. It’s a blessing to be able to eat well. However, based on how busy this place was and how the ball was dropped regarding customer service to us and others at the restaurant, and after all that and a very long wait, the food was not good at all, I feel compelled to write a review for others to read when deciding whether to order. Curries are not supposed to be sweet. What is wrong with Indian restaurants ruining authentic food dishes? Palak Paneer sweet? We can’t believe that you screwed up naan. How can a restaurant not make proper naan that isn’t thick and rubbery. If you’re fully booked out, apologize to the customer who has walked in, waited in line and is wanting to dine. Don’t just embarrass the customer in front of 10 others by saying we’re fully booked out would you like to take away? Two stars are for the good atmosphere and setting. Otherwise it would’ve been lower rating because our take away wasn’t packed properly and it leaked. All the trouble ordering from here wasn’t worth...

This is one of the best Indian curry places on the Sunshine Coast! I have tried several different dishes here on multiple occasions and have remained consistently impressed with their food.

If you’re looking for flavorful and aromatic curry with meat that is tender and moist, then this is the place to go to. Their curries are infused with a wonderful balance of spices that is true to authentic Indian curries. Moreover, their meats are so perfectly and skillfully done that it remains tender even after reheating.

If there was anything to fault this place on, it would have to be the waiting time when they get busy. The longest I’ve had to wait was over 90 minutes, and that’s a really long time when you’re hungry. I recommend placing your order online in advance so you can just pick it up when it’s ready instead of waiting outside.
