Wanting to take a friend who has a disability out for lunch we found the ramp a bit hard to get too but we arrived a bit before 1.20pm and as we were still walking up the ramp the staff member called out across the balcony that the place is closing. She was already packing up the tables. I said "but your website states you are open until 2pm!" The woman then said "well the kitchen closes at 1.30pm, but you can get a take away coffee". I said "well your website should indicate that" (even though it was still not 1.30pm). I was indignant as my friend was finding it hard enough to just get to the restaurant so I would not say it is disability friendly. I said "well you won't be getting our money then" and the staff member began to yell saying "don't speak to me like that" and "get out and don't come back. I had already said we would NOT be going there again so her words were pointless! All I can say is I'm glad we didn't spend a cent there and we took our business elsewhere, where we were treated with respect. Really! When you look at the items on the menu it wouldn't have taken very long to make anything so I'm just wondering if the person was a lazy staff member who wanted to close shop early? When reading the reviews one states they were still operating at 1:45pm and, as a place to sit and eat lunch, you would think they would still have the kitchen open until at least 1:45pm! NOT RECOMMENDED.

24/09 As shown below in the response from the Owner they clearly stated that we were there at 1.29pm (not true) so they were still technically open for business. If it was 1.29pm why were they already packing up? They obviously don't need the money. I did not use any abusive language. I was exasperated and I stated the website should show that the kitchen would be closed from 1.30pm not expecting customers to read a sandwich board that had blown over and was laying on the ground. I did notice the Bakery nearby had heaps of patrons and Mill St. Kitchen and Pantry had none. Keep treating customers with the owners attitude and I'm sure this is how it...

Our first experience at Mill St Kitchen and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The premises are cosily tucked away in the heart of Nambour CBD, offering both indoor and outdoor seating in a tranquil, leafy environment.

The service was prompt and friendly, ensuring orders were quickly taken and meals and drinks prepared.

My Spanner Crab Omelette was excellent; delicately seasoned, fluffy and complemented with prosciutto which added some lovely smoky saltiness.

My wife had the Roasted Pumpkin & Rosti which also received much praise.

Our drinks, consisting of a fantastic honey-infused chai and above-par flat white, matched the meals for quality and enjoyment. Last but not least, some Orange & Almond cake ended proceedings with another big thumbs-up.

My only criticism, and one that had me considering a lower rating, is the prices. In my opinion, $29 for an omelette and $25 for a conservatively sized vegetable dish is restaurant standard. To pay that amount, for lunch in a cafe, is extravagant.

That being said, the overall charm, quality and flavoursome food won me over, so 5 stars it is. I recommend Mill St Kitchen to anyone seeking a rewarding dining experience and, for us personally, we will...

Breakfast with 5 friends at Mill St Kitchen and Pantry. Service was very slow and the place wasn't brimming with customers. Where are our coffees? The website shows really pretty plating and makes the place and food look lovely, however, in reality, the food and plating leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the smashed avo and had to pick it up to eat it as I couldn't cut through the sourdough. Partner ordered eggs bene, which he loved. The rest of my table had mixed reviews about their meals. Presentation of everything was not anywhere near what they show on the website. Have a look at the menu in my pictures - dog-eared and stained piece of A4 paper on a clipboard. Did they pull that from the garbage bin?

Amazing spot! Delicious coffee and one of the best eggs bennys around! Very cute setting in an old Queenslander style house, handmade artworks up on the walls for sale and a range of books and household goods to peruse - lends a lot of character to the place! Fantastic service also from front of house, very welcoming and accommodating to us. Big thanks to chef for our delicious breakfast, we look forward to trying the rest of the menu!
