The hot food this weekend is so special and amazing. Five Stars on taste and planning. The breakfast buffet is awesome and made the whole stay worth it. What a shame the wait service later at lunch was so undeserving of that good quality. Please consider to replace your older manager, Asian gentleman, for somebody who actively wants to participate in providing a good service? He sat down and turned his back to us while we entered the restaurant for lunch and looked lost. At the bar, while we stood, he served us last. When we asked if we could find a table to sit and look at the menu, he said no and demanded we order at the counter. When we asked again then he reluctantly told us to take a seat, but at the bar when we preferred the restaurant area. He poored my Lemon Lime Bitters and forgot any lemon in the glass. No table water was offered, no glass and no straws, just a bottle of sprite. The cheescake felt frozen like icecream. The beef bacon burger tasted spectacular. But the burger arrived with a hair on the plate. Not being rude we asked to replace the plate. The bitten burger was transferred over, onto another porcelain plate, but we we're given no replacement, no compensation, no refund, no...

Dinner was a bit ordinary for the prices charged, bit of a shame when a $12.50 kids meal looks more appealing than the $25 pork. Breakfast buffet was what you'd expect, price was agreeable and the food was nice. What stood out for me was the staff, most (not all) staff seemed pretty disinterested. For the price being paid to stay there, and the price of the food, I'd expect them to be a little more friendly and attentive. I found the older the staff member, the less enthused they seemed. And who's the old guy wandering about? He clearly works there (or owner?) But spent the whole time getting in the way and giving wrong information. I asked if they had ice cream (like the menu said?) And he told me no, for a bar staff member to moments later procure ice creams from a freezer that was no more than 3 feet from where the old guy was standing. The resort is nice but the restaurant experience wasn't as good as it...
Read moreIt was my daughter's 9th birthday. We were staying our first of 4 nights at the Oaks Resort. Hoping to have some time away after a horrific last half of the year filled with unimaginable loss. My daughter ordered chicken nuggets, which were overcooked, and seemed to be cooked in oil which had not been changed for months The fact that this food was inadequate was made worse by her not receiving her food until 10minutes after everyone else at our table (4 people in total), which only occurred because I walked up to the counter and asked where her food was. I had chicken korma, which was overpriced, with papadams which were stale, and potentially from the night before. My partner had the pork belly and veges, which was extremely overpriced for the quality...
