We visited Aberdeen Restaurant based on word-of-mouth recommendations, and it certainly lived up to the hype! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful seating arrangement. Though our table was technically in the corridor area, the restaurant had cleverly designed it into a spacious and private dining nook. The long table comfortably fit our group of five, providing an intimate yet open setting. For larger groups, the restaurant also offers private dining rooms, which is a nice touch.
One of the highlights of our meal was the Gui Fei Free-Range Chicken (貴妃走地雞) which we had pre-ordered. The name “Gui Fei” (Imperial Concubine) suggests a dish of royal quality, and it certainly delivered on that promise. The meat was tender, flavorful, and clearly of premium quality.
We also ordered: • Steamed Glacier 51 Tooth Fish Fillet (清蒸銀鱈魚) – Delicate and buttery, with a smooth texture that melted in the mouth. • Diced Wagyu Beef with Black Pepper (黑椒和牛粒) – Juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with bold flavors. • Seafood Fried Rice with Truffle Sauce (松露醬海鮮炒飯) – Fragrant, well-balanced, and generously portioned with seafood. • Crispy Eggplant with Vinegar & Honey Dark Soy (冰川茄子) – A wonderful mix of crispy and sweet-savory flavors. • Freshly Shucked Crab Roe Tofu Casserole (生拆蟹粉豆腐煲) – Silky tofu with a rich, umami-packed crab roe sauce that was incredibly comforting.
Every dish was well-executed, generously portioned, and bursting with flavor. While the pricing is higher than a typical Chinese restaurant in Eastwood, it’s well justified by the quality of ingredients and overall dining experience.
Service was another strong point—the staff were friendly, attentive, and fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, making communication effortless.
Overall, Aberdeen Restaurant is a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy premium Chinese cuisine in a refined yet comfortable setting. We’ll...
Read more4.8/5 I think it's super delicious! It's very authentic and reminds me of some high-end restaurants back in China. The black pepper Wagyu beef is absolutely amazing—the beef is tender and juicy, and it's cooked all the way through, unlike Western restaurants where it's often bloody. This shows the chef really knows how to control the heat. The side dishes are also fantastic; I even ate all the onions, which shows how good they were. The crab roe tofu is also delicious and has a really fresh flavor, though the tofu used is the firmer type (I’d suggest using soft tofu next time for a better texture), but it’s still really tasty! The stir-fried scallops are great too, and the most surprising part was the snap peas—they were so crisp and fresh. Of course, the scallops were excellent as well. The only downside might be that the dishes came out a bit slow. We were asked to change seats twice, which was a bit uncomfortable, but the staff were very polite and even gave us a 10% discount in the end, which was nice. I’ll definitely bring my friends...
Read moreWe came on a recommendation. The restaurant is a good 45mins drive. It was Thursday night right after the new year and they were very understaffed. Fully booked. We were walk ins and they kindly set up a table using bar tables and chairs in the bar area. Getting service was harder as the night progressed and restaurant filled up. Our first dishes came out within 20 mins or so. My family and I were extremely hangry by the time our 3rd and subsequent dishes came out. We waited 45mins between our 2nd and 3rd dishes. Our rice went cold. Chinese food tastes good when it comes out piping hot. Tea was cold also.
Highlight would have been the toothfish. Very fresh and light but delicious. Everything else was better than average.
We would not go back here based on the time it takes for the food to come out. We did not have hours to sit, chat and wine and dine. We are foodies, we like to get in quick and eat and leave quickly. I wouldn’t recommend if...
