French restaurant.
Fairly expensive but the food was better than I expected.
Lots of flavor, not huge meals at all but sufficient. Service was prompt, friendly with a touch of French arrogance (I mean this in a nice way, read below to understand what I mean).
One of the people I was with didn't enjoy it but I explained to them that the French have a certain standard and it can sometimes be misinterpreted as arrogance
Wine was very nice, quality, but somewhat over priced
As a regular place to dine, I think it would be too expensive but for a special occasion you might like to try it
Would I dine there again or take family there? Probably not, just too expensive for what I like to pay.
If you like finer dining without a top notch restaurant label, then this place would probably be ok for you but for me, it's too expensive
$17 for an entree, which was small in size $28 for a main that consisted of lamb slices on a breadboard with a dab of two sauses
Wine was $137 a bottle for red wine (from memory). It was nice, very smooth, sightly sweet, but not $100 better than other reds I have had for $40. Verdict, overpriced wine
The only reason I went there was because it was a milestone birthday for a work colleague. I highly doubt I'd go again, not because it was bad, it wasn't, but it was more expensive than what I normally would pay or would pay again
EDITED To fix lousy typing by me!
I believe the restaurant has replied to my post, I deliberately did not look so that I would not change my review in case they were critical of my assessment, I don't want to say anything on account of what they have said about my post and I'd rather remain impartial (I will read their response after...
Read moreIf you've ever wondered what snails(escargot) taste like I have some news for you they're...good. Much like scallops (sans salt) cooked in butter. Although I couldn't find it on their website, we were delighted to find they had a degustation with wine paired on each course. I suspect they used a Som to match the courses with the wines because although I do enough wine matched disgustations I can't remember the last time I've experienced it done so well(to no-ones surprise largely french veritils). On to the food! Not sure where the chef is from but it seems like a hatted heritage. The man knows his way around seafood and red meats and small touches like heating the plates ensured that all our meals came out at the perfect temp. Call outs - pan roasted Barra and grilled eye fillet were incredible. In ending comments one of the best things about this place was only 2 wait staff were on hand the whole night. Yet everything ran smoothly and they were incredible. It's clear in covid times hospo staff have gone through some of the worst of it yet you wouldn't know based on how fast and professional these two were. If either of you are reading this, Thank you you are...

The pumpkin puree and pomegranate are a excellent compliment to the Barramundi, im really impressed My fiancé loved her duck dish also. Everyone else had no complaints with there dishes WE didn’t try any desserts The Set menu is $60 for 3 courses, the zomato menu is outdated. But from this you will only save $4 or $5, In general I found the prices a little expensive Service was attentive and friendly though food took a little longer to come out than expected Despite the price it’s a place I would come back to try something else....
