We've been here for pizza and drinks a few times now and i have yet to be disappointed with the experience - the pizza was authentic with a thin and crispy base, the garlic prawns were sizzling and delicious, especially with some bread, and the menu is uncomplicated but can also cater to differing tastes. There is also a surprising array of spirits available to order, (in addition to beer) at very reasonable cost, which made it all the more easy to while away a couple of hours eating and drinking outside in a quasi-italian manner! If your taste runs more towards wine there is a little wine shop around the corner where you can get a good bottle to bring along. The staff were friendly and amiable, with a family feel and a pleasant camaraderie with each other. Nice casual atmosphere especially to sit out in mild weather, and just enjoy the evening at an easy pace, so its easy to see how this place is becoming a local mainstay. We've also tried delivered takeaway from here and it arrived in good condition, and hot. Parking is available both on Lavender road, and (more likely to be available) on Alfred street...
Read moreOrdered a vegetarian lasagne from this place and it was one of the most horrible things I have ever eaten. It was completely bland and seemed like it was made by someone who had no idea what lasagne is. They brought me some sort of awful cottage pie variant with melted cheese on top. I had to throw it in the bin and I was extremely disappointed as it was a complete waste of money. This place had good reviews and hence I thought I would give it a chance. However if I had scrolled down the reviews pageIpage should have read the other review written by another lady also mentioning how awful the vegetarian lasagne was. If anyone else is planning on ordering it in the future, I hope they see my review in time and don't make the same...
Read moreMy husband and I went here and what great value. He had the seafood platter - heaps of mussels and prawns. And a gigantic salad, that had the best tomatoes I've had in years - the waitress said he got them at the market that morning. I had pasta - boscaiola, which was too big to finish but was good. Lovely garlic bread. A glass of house red wine - $5 !!!!! When was the last time you saw that value? They finished off with a complementary madeira (? I think) and chocolates. It would be nice to sit outside on a nice evening. I'd go again in a heartbeat, even if just for the salad. We had a lot of food and a carafe of house red - for...
