Updated (Oct 26, 2024) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My parrot and I visited on Saturday Oct 26, 2024 this year again to catch the Jacaranda Trees. They are almost at full bloom with most of the trees showing bright purple foliage already. I reckon they will be in full bloom in two weeks time. We arrived just after 9am and the parking spots are already limited. It was also incredibly busy with many cars waiting to drive pass the street (some were local residents waiting to get out and some were visitors wanting to find a parking spot). The council hasn’t announced the road closure date yet for this year. Oct 15, 2023 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My parrot and I visited today (15 Oct 2023) to catch some Jacaranda trees, and indeed the Jacaranda trees have started to bloom but not in full bloom yet. I reckon they will be in full bloom in two weeks :) Both of us still enjoy the view of start-to-bloom Jacaranda in a not-so-crowded setting :) A super pleasant walk down McDougall St with a lovely view of the purple trees, love it. Nov 12, 2022 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My parrot and I visited McDougall St to see the Jacaranda trees in full bloom on 12 Nov 2022. The weather was fantastic:a bright sunny day with blue sky. The Jacaranda trees are in full bloom and the arches of Jacaranda across the street from right to left, and the bright purple color form the purple “ceiling” of the street which is just amazing and simply gorgeous! A must visit. The parrot loved it a lot and had been saying a lot of hellos to the fellow visitors. The road was closed to the car when we visited which made it easier/safer to take photos. Please pay attention to the cars if you visit on a day when the road is not closed (safety first). We arrived at around 9:15am and there were plenty of street parkings. Best Jacaranda viewing experience in Sydney to me, and it is equivalent to autumn foliage viewing at Honor Avenue in Macedon (Vic).

McDougall st in Kirribilli has become famous for its archway of purple hues, which occurs every year from mid October to the beginning of November. Its definitely worth a visit if you're already in the area or nearby, but if you're intending on driving half way across Sydney to see it, there's plenty of other suburbs that have Jacaranda trees around. Its also near impossible to find a parking spot on the street. You're best off parking at Greenwood Plaza and walking down (about 20mins). This year Sydney had a bit of wind and rain, and as you can see from the vid, we lost quite a few blooms. Still, its a pleasant walk to pass the time. 🇦🇺

Viewing a jacaranda tree in full blossom is a captivating experience. The vibrant purple flowers create a breathtaking canopy, transforming the landscape into a scene of enchantment. The sight of these delicate, trumpet-shaped blooms against a backdrop of lush green leaves is truly a visual delight. The contrast between the vivid purples and the surrounding colors is stunning and evokes a sense of wonder. The overall effect is not just visually pleasing but also calming and therapeutic, making it a must-see natural spectacle. Be sure to catch this enchanting display during the peak blooming season for the most memorable experience.
