Arturo’s Rooftop — Restaurant in Sydney

The service at this place is worse than anywhere I’ve ever been. I came up to the rooftop to have a drink and a bowl of fries. I stood at the front for 5 minuites while the 3 staff just walked around not doing anything and not acknowledging us, I said hi to one and he just says hi and keeps walking? I eventually ask one “do we just sit wherever?” To which he just replies “yeah” we order two drinks and a bowl of fries the staff are so blunt and seem like they just walked out of a cave and have never had human interaction before. The fries take a while to come and when they do, they sit on the counter for 7 minuites, the waiter doesn’t remember who ordered food and it takes him 7 MINUITES to ask!! We get the chips with less than a centimetre of aioli in the pot and as you can imagine, stone cold. How badly can you mess up a bowl of fries for god sake. This place had my bestie in tears on her 30th. In trying to organise the event they were unreachable after booking despite numerous emails and phone calls (they said the event manager doesn’t take calls… what even), when they finally actually bothered to reply they said it was too late to organise any food for the event. The day before the event they called asking if it was going to be cancelled… our response being obviously not. They then said they needed the space as they had accepted other bookings from their other venues to be moved here. Have you ever heard of something so illogical? The options provided to us were to be moved to another area which didn’t even accomodate our full party… or cancel. Yes this is less than 24 hours before the event, with no time to book elsewhere and no offer to compensate us for their pathetic excuse for customer service. Very disappointing. Booked this for our work Christmas party as looked pretty. Arrived and staff were hopeless and had a small table for 7 of us to sit on that would only have fitted 4 people. Had to order from the bar, very poor service, hard to access with people standing around, no table service. Drinks and food we tried to order they didn't have left in stock. No gluten free bread. We ordered food and wouldn't fit on our tiny table so when we put some on a table next to us the sassy host had a problem with this even all the other tables were empty. We ended up leaving and finding another restaurant to go to (which was difficult in peak Christmas Party season on a Friday night) as was so embarrassed to spend our Christmas Party at such an underwhelming venue and unimpressed with the service, staff really had no idea what was going on.
