Gallery Shop — Local services in Sydney

Misleading pricing information makes an otherwise pleasant gift shopping experience (beautiful items and the opportunity to support the gallery) a disappointment. If you've calculated what you'll be paying at the counter, think again - the prices displayed do NOT include GST so if you've chosen over $100 worth of items, as I did recently, expect to get charged a minimum extra $10 at the till. This is in breach of the Pricing Standards set out by the NSW government on its website which states, "Businesses cannot promote or state a price that is only part of the cost", "The single price is the total of all measurable costs and includes: any charge payable; the amount of any tax, duty, fee, levy or charges, for example, GST or airport tax." Someone at the gallery may be doing this for the tourist market, forgetting that locals also want to support the gallery and that we expect mandated pricing standards requirements to be followed. I won't be purchasing anything there again until the problem...

A good sized gallery store with books from the latest exhibitions as well as other interesting art...
