This business continues to persist with an exorbitant minimum purchase for card transactions despite the fact that there are licensing restrictions prohibiting the selling and consumption of shots within licensed premises in NSW after 12am.
This is completely illogical because it forces people to buy more alcohol if they don't have access to cash which actually works to circumvents the restrictions and the archaic atm provided in the premises does not have access to a credit account which, considering the proliferation of visa and mastercard debit cards that require access to the credit account option, makes it almost impossible for most people to easily withdraw money without accessing their hard-earned savings.
The only other atm in the vicinity of the premises is a Commonwealth Bank atm across the road which forces one to actually leave the premises if they don't have access to cash which is dangerous situation in a late night out of drinking putting people at risk of being run over on busy Broadway Rd/George St or being accosted for money as there is high population of transients and delinquents in this location.
On the evening that I tried to highlight this to the incompetent management and staff they would not listen to reason when I tried to inform them of the consequences of continuing to charge a minimum. The person claiming to be the manager that evening, Stephen, who seemed to be in a highly agitated, possibly drug induced, and malnourished state wouldn't serve me drinks after I attempted to highlight the potential dangers of continuing to charge a minimum.
I had only consumed one drink before Stephen refused to serve me drinks again after I had made this suggestion demonstrating not only a distinct lack of communication skills but a blatant disregard for the opinion of a regular customer ( over an 8 year period) with legitimate concerns.
This business also seems to hire a number of staff with poor English speaking ability as they failed to understand the feedback I was giving them regarding the minimum, in particular one female staff member who seemed to take my suggestions relating to the minimum as a personal insult.
I used to enjoy going to this pub as you can meet a wide variety of people and play a bit of pool but the owners of the establishment need a complete and drastic overhaul of their staff and the way they treat...
Read moreI recently visited Bar Broadway, hoping to have a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The bar, particularly the manager of the pokies area, displayed a level of rudeness and made me feel incredibly alienated throughout my visit.
From the moment I entered, I sensed an unwelcoming atmosphere. The manager, in charge of the pokies area, seemed disinterested in providing any form of customer service. Their demeanour was dismissive and unfriendly, leaving me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued patron.
What struck me the most was the manager's blatant disregard for basic courtesy and respect. Their condescending attitude was palpable, and it seemed as though they had no understanding of proper customer relations. It's disheartening to encounter such behaviour, especially when visiting a place where customers should feel comfortable and valued.
Furthermore, the overall ambiance of Bar Broadway was lacklustre. The atmosphere felt stale and uninspiring, with little effort put into creating an enjoyable environment for guests. Combined with the unpleasant encounter with the manager, it became clear that this establishment fails to prioritize customer satisfaction.
Given my experience, I cannot recommend Bar Broadway to anyone seeking a welcoming and enjoyable night out. The unprofessional behaviour of the manager in the pokies area, along with the overall unwelcoming atmosphere, made me feel alienated and unimportant. It is truly disappointing to encounter such a lack of hospitality and customer service in a supposed establishment of leisure.
I hope that the management of Bar Broadway takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving their customer relations and overall ambiance. Until significant changes are made, I would strongly advise potential patrons to consider alternative options for a more positive and inclusive experience.

Read moreI am reaching out to share my experience at your bar which was quite disappointing and hurtful, especially given the context of my day. After spending the entire day exploring the sights of Sydney, I decided to stop by your establishment to unwind with a cold beer. I was genuinely looking forward to a relaxed evening, given how much I had walked and how tiring the day had been. However, upon entering your bar, I was met with a series of unfortunate events that left me feeling disrespected and misunderstood. Feeling quite drowsy from my long day and the warmth of the bar, I closed my eyes for a brief moment to gather my energy. When I awoke, I decided to order a second beer, under the impression that I was simply enjoying my time at your establishment. To my dismay, the bartender refused to serve me, citing concerns that I was intoxicated. This was particularly hurtful, as I had only consumed one beer and was not inebriated. I understand the need for staff to monitor patrons' alcohol consumption for their safety and that of others. However, being unjustly perceived as drunk after only one drink and a simple moment of rest felt both humiliating and frustrating. I was seeking a welcoming environment to relax, not one where my character was questioned based on a brief moment of fatigue. I believe that part of running a successful bar is fostering a friendly and understanding atmosphere. Staff training in recognizing genuine fatigue versus intoxication could greatly enhance customer experiences and prevent similar misunderstandings...
