Metro Pita Kebab — Restaurant in Sydney

Eaten at this place for the last few years as I’ve studied in the city. Food eg kebab rolls and gozleme have always been very good.

However today I tried the student 13.90 biryani deal and was surprised at the quality drop. The food was microwaved, for my friend who got lamb, and also for me who got vegetarian. The vegetarian biryani had no flavour whatsoever, the tomato tasted like balls of dry mush, the rice was tasteless, the soy meat was also tiny and tasteless. Most of the dish was rice and I ended up eating a whole container of mostly dry rice. Emphasis on the sheer blandness of the dish, I honestly wanted to chuck it out and ask for a replacement but was already far from the shop. The potato inside was ok.

Usually I don’t leave reviews like this but have high expectations set as the hsp, kebabs and gozlemes have always been very tasty. Needed to leave an honest review as that was my worst experience here and at any food store in the Ultimo area.

Please take on my feedback with grace, as I usually love your food, and think this was not to the standard of this shop.

Shocking food and treatment 😔 As a registered Nurse not even sure where to start. I been ordering from this place regularly and in the beginning it was ok food and service but it declined very quickly. Yesterday was my last chance and I will never go back. Firstly I was charged more but that’s not the worst part, it was half way through the meal when I discovered several staplers in the box rice and chips mix meal. Yes, you heard it staplers. I vomited everything and felt like what else have been digesting from this place. They are not clean and the Asian lady behind the counter is rude but the guy was kind always, credits to him because of him I keep going back but I am not putting my health in danger. Really solid kebab spot! The main appeal here is fantastic value for money. The portions are consistently generous – you get a lot of food for the price, making it very filling and satisfying ("量大管饱" is spot on!).

Here's a nice bonus I've noticed: if you order after midnight (especially on weekends), they often seem to be extra generous with the meat and toppings. I've gotten noticeably more chicken/lamb and extras like salad and sauce in my wrap or box during late-night orders compared to earlier in the day. It's a great perk when you're hungry late at night!
