Wow! Honestly I wasn't expecting much but the reviews and photo of noodle salad inspired us to give it a try.

There were two menus on the table, neither had the dish wanted. We almost walked out but asked about the vermicelli salad, and boom, another menu appeared!

There were 4 different kinds including pork belly, spring roll, chicken and prawn. We opted for the first three to share between us, giving us a combo.

The pork belly was absolutely stunning. The best I have eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant. Crispy, juicy and cooked to perfection.

I was so impressed, I haven't stopped talking about it yet. The salad was fresh and super tasty and the fish/chilli sauce was perfectly balanced.

They also had a couple of bench seats which made the dining experience more comfortable.

So, if you are looking for Vietnamese in Dee why/Freshwater area, give Bau Truong at the Diggers Club a try.

(They also at two...

not really sure why this was a rather negative experience. staff was not ready for service for a friday night although the place was rather empty. asking if we need an extra chair when there is actually a high chair next to us, not understanding that all dishes can come together, not getting that cutlery was needed, not being able to answer questions about dishes and their ingrediennts, wanting to take plates when they were brought 5 min before and I'm busy with a baby + breastfeeding, and the list goes on. to top it off, they have no knowledge on how to use containers. we thought we'd take some of the food home to avoid waste, it wasn't properly closed and spilled in my bag. thanks for the added cleaning and bother. this is supposed to be a service where we relax but that didn' t happen (also facilities are shockingly useless and well as staff at the entrance of the DIGGERS. i've never seen so much...

Have been coming regularly the last couple of years. Food has been pretty good and so is the atmosphere, however I was taken aback as I was ordering (2x beef pho and a combination stir fried rice noodles directly from Bau Troung), I’d asked for fresh chilli and the lady taking the order said we can only give you one. Confused as I only said ‘some fresh chilli’ (not extra/not double/not two lots-though having ordered 2 pho, I feel like that would still have been a reasonable ask), I said, “Sorry?” She replied, your husband asked for lots of chilli last time, and I replied sorry I don’t have a husband, and she replied the person you usually come with. I replied, I have come here with many different people, friends, brother, dad, sister, parents … I’m not sure who you’re talking about.

Doesn’t make me want to rush back...

Located in Harbord Diggers Club, 88 Evans Street, Freshwater, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is my absolute favourite place to eat when visiting Harbord Diggers. The menu is fantastic, offering a really good selection to choose from. The food is always top notch. So delicious 😋 and fresh. I have never had a bad experience here and always look forward to returning. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rice paper rolls in particular are scrumptious. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. A Big thumbs up from me!! 👍👍👍👍

What a totally unexpected surprise! The food was extremely tasty and had generous servings. We had a variety of dishes and particularly liked the beef noodles. The service was very attentive and quick as well. The Harbord Diggers renovation is very stylish and this restaurant is similarly well styled. It feels like your eating alfresco, yet you are located right within the club.
