I’ve tried quite a few Italian establishments in the Newtown/Erskineville area but this is my fave so far for authentic tasting Italian comfort meals!! Panino was a classic - so simple, light and satisfying with freshly sliced prosciutto. Porchetta was flavoursome and oh my can I say their homemade focaccia was so warm, soft and fresh. THE PASTAS WERE PHENOMENAL!! I’ve tried a lot of ragu pastas before and this one was prob the best I’ve had in Sydney!!! Love that they use malfadine pasta cooked to al dente. It was infused in rich tomato sauce and even the bone marrow enhanced the richness. The lamb was slow cooked snd tender. The gnocchi tasted so creamy from the blue cheese - tasted like a homely dish cooked with love. Overall, the pastas and deli selection is so affordable given the portions. Service is great, spacious nice cafe and vibey music. The owners are super friendly! Would come back again

Their pasta is phenomenal - we had the sausage truffle cream pasta and lasagne. I read a couple of reviews that said it was the best lasagne ever - big call. I was wrong. The caprese salad was a bit undersalted and dry, so we asked for olive oil and salt. Annoyingly, the salt n pepper was already mixed (the salad already had a lovely pepper over it; like all their ingredients, i suspect it's top notch). My latte was accidentally brought out as a skinny but i didn't want to complain. Beautiful shade of blue in their decor - more associated with Greece i would have thought. Atmosphere was a bit downgraded 'cos of the lack of people and sun - but what can you do about the latter 🤷🏻‍♀️?? Music was just a bit too loud

Some very interesting pastries here. I really like the lobster tail, which seems to be a Milanese version of the regular ham and cheese croissant. It was really good, with a very flaky crust and the cheese doesn’t overpower the taste of the ham either. Their bombolini was great too, especially the one with the custard filling. Their pizza was a surprise, did not know that Milanese pizza was a bit different. Their coffee was good too, though I’d recommend not getting any sugar with your coffee, if you will get the bombolinis. I look forward to coming back here to try other items on their menu, like the porcehtta!

I hesitated writing this review for the fear of not being able to get a table! We had breakfast a few days ago, the food and coffee were very good. I then realised this place is far more than a Cafe, it's also a deli and it is also an Italian gem. Just had dinner on Thursday nights where they do a selection of pastas for $19.00. I opted for a pasta not on the special menu, the Rigatoni with pork sausage, mushrooms, truffle paste and cream. This is comfort food to the max. The Italian chef, who hails from Milan, puts his love of his homeland into his food. He is proud of what he produces and so he should be. We look forward to making this a regular place to enjoy and savour honest food, cooked with pride and passion. We are so lucky to have Betto in our...
