MoshPit — Restaurant in Sydney

One day we were enjoying a beer and good tunes at Moshpit and had a silly little idea to get hitched there. Turns out that idea was not silly, it was one of the best ones we've ever had!

Pat and the team could not be more accommodating for us and our guests and truly went out of their way to make sure we had the most amazing night of our lives. The cocktails were fantastic, the boys tried their best to keep the VBs cold against all odds, and the pizzas fuelled our guests as they danced the night away to the band that sounded absolutely mint. The level of hospitality was off the charts and we felt like we were being looked after by family. Excellent communication during the planning process left us incredibly confident that we'd be able to bring our vision to life. We had zero stress either before or on the big day - I'll say it again - Pat, you and the team are a absolute bloody superstars and we appreciate what you did for us more than words can express.

A great bearded and bald man once described this place as "a hallway with a bedroom at the end" and by-George he's right. This tight little dive bar has cemented itself in Newtown's alternative culture (despite really being in Erskineville). It's rich history of providing live entertainment from the very fringe of "social norms" has allowed itself to be forever equated with a great mix of subcultures. How this place can house as many people as it does is beyond me. The stage can hold at most four performers. I've seen shows where the five piece bands have ended up having the bassist on the floor next to the stage. Why is it always the bass player? I didn't try the food as I was fasting but one can only wonder from where it comes from. I didn't try the booze as I was fasting (did I already say that???) but the bar looked well stocked. A great little rock bar, with a good selection of cocktails, wines and rotating taps (of beer from local microbreweries). There's always a great selection of 90s and early 00s rock playing, and they regularly have local bands playing on Sunday afternoons. Tickets and posters of gigs from years ago emblazon the walls - I've spent a good length of time trying to figure out which of them I'd been to. The staff are fantastic, and they've managed to transform a tiny space at the quiet end of King street into one of my favourite bars...
