I’m Dan’s wife and am actually shocked at the review below. Firstly, there was absolutely no family sitting next to us or even inside the cafe at the time, let alone a family that just happened to “order the same dish”. I suspect this is a review left by friends or family of the owner and it is very unfair to counter a genuine negative customer review by posting a fake positive review rather than reply directly to the negative comment and address genuine concerns. It is completely unfair and against the essence of Google reviews. I actually can not believe the fake review said I “raised my voice”, this absolutely never happened. At the end of the day we recieved raw eggs, even the whites were raw, we very nicely asked for it to be cooked again and received raw eggs again the second time round that weren’t at all further cooked, the whites of the egg were still raw. The owner then literally told us that it was our fault we didn’t ask for a well done egg initially when we paid, and was quite abrupt with us. I don’t see why I should have to ask for the eggs to be cooked, it wasn’t just the yolk that was a bit runny, the eggs were entirely runny, the entire egg whites were clear. We then asked for a refund and my husband didn’t eat anything there that morning. The lovely wait staff Debbie checked in on us and she was absolutely lovely. It was the owner who was quite rude.
Also Blue Garden only opened about 6 weeks or so ago, we were so looking forward to trying it out as we loved cafe 4T7 which was the cafe at the same spot before Blue Garden. I can see that reviews on here have been from years ago even though Blue Garden has only opened 2 months ago. So I can only assume that they have taken all the reviews from Cafe4T7 and pretended they are the same business on Google. Once again, completely unethical getting positive reviews that are actually not reviewing your business.
I am sorely disappointed and will not be coming here again, not because of the raw eggs, but because of the poor service we recieved afterwards and unethical behaviour, i.e. the owner saying it was our fault and the fake...
Read moreTopline: nice cafe but plagued by staffing challenges. Food: decent variety and tasty of a breakfast cafe. Beverages: a standard range of items though from time to time (such as when we attended our third review session) they will unexplainably be out of something, e.g. decaf coffee (big turn down for new families and mums). Pricing: higher than average for some items but about right for the menu Service: the staff are polite and friendly but there seems to be quite a few communication break downs in orders. We ordered several items and asked for add-ons (such as a staple hash brown in a bacon and egg roll). While the invoice and price reflected this, the delivered food did not (putting us about 8$ with no add-on). The kitchen service speed was also quite slow, though given we observed staff operations for about 15 minutes there did not appear to be any surge in demands (a steady if not slow order traffic) which made the loss of parts of our order more surprising.
The atmosphere is nice, but this has been the main feature of this cafe and it's predecessors (which by our rough count, this is the 3rd or 4th iteration of this cafe site).
If you're local and want a standard coffee it's perfectly fine, but if you want to make sure youre getting what you ordered you may need to seek nearby...
Read moreI was sitting at the table behind Dan with my family that morning and happened to order the same dish. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. While I respect that everyone has their own experiences and perspectives, I felt the need to chime in and provide a balanced view as someone who witnessed everything firsthand.
This is a small, family-run café, and I personally had a very pleasant experience. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. In fact, I overheard them double-checking that your child’s meal had absolutely no seasoning, ensuring it met your request perfectly. That level of care really stood out to me.
From my perspective, the team handled his concern with patience and professionalism. They took his plate back, remade your dish, and apologized multiple times. Despite their efforts, he spoke to them quite rudely, and his wife even raised her voice at them. I completely understand that he was frustrated if his meal wasn’t to his liking, but from what I saw, the team truly did their best to make things right. Small businesses like this one work hard to create a welcoming atmosphere, and I believe they deserve the same kindness and respect that we, as customers, expect in return.
I just wanted to share my perspective as an external person who was also there...
